hi,
I'd like to apply for this scheme, but there are a few things which might stand in the way:
i) Lack of experience of doing this sort of thing IRL
ii) I have a grand total of zero entries in the edited guide (althought
iii) I'd probably need a few hints to being with
iv) My own writing style tends to be somewhat informal
Let me know what goes

Hi Fred,
It's quite a good idea to have some experience of where Entries go when you write them - and also to get a feel for the style of the Guide. While subbing experience is not completely necessary, knowing how Guide Entries should look are obviously quite important. While we like to keep things fairly informal, we don't want the entries to be too 'Adamsy'.
I'd recommend hanging out for a while and reading some Entries - maybe writing a couple yourself if you feel like it. That's the best way to appreciate the sort of style we want. You can also have a look at the other Subs Guideline Entries (they're all linked from the main Subs page).
I'll put your name down on the waiting list if you like, and let you know when a vacancy comes up. Thanks for showing your interest!

Few things have changed since I first posted on here.
i) I now have some experience with editing things (audio news-feeds, press releases and secure configuration guides)
ii) I now have at least one entry in the edited guide and one almost in the edited guide.
In case that makes any difference.
