Hi Opticallillusion. I see you have volunteered for the scouts and ACE. Mina (The one that will recruit you) will be back on Friday. Meanwhile, you should lurk around U295 and pick up some tips from other gurus.

Just as some friendly advice from one h2g2er to another, I'd suggest starting with one volunteer group at a time, and then building up to all three, rather than trying to start with all three at once.
It's great to be eager to be involved, but being a scout, or an ace, or a guru -- all of those can take a lot of work, and the tasks involved are pretty different. I'd start with one, spend some time settling in to the new role, and get comfortable with that, and then think about volunteering for another one.

That's the natural selection of the queues. Thopse patient enough make it, and queues end at different intervals. I've been in the scout line for almost 3 months

Sadly, I've been a volunteer for long enough that there was no queuing involved... Although back when all the jobs were combined into one, and there was no Peer Review, and no shiny badges, I think I had to take the editing test twice because I forgot to use British spelling and punctuation the first time.
