As for URLs, is it just me, or is it a pain now that it's bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2 rather than just h2g2.com?

Whoami - iD dislikes punctuation Posted Apr 23, 2002
Yep, but we have no choice. When typing, bbc.co.uk/dna works at the moment!

Pastey Posted Apr 23, 2002
Mind you, typing h2g2.com still works at the moment as well, but we're not supposed to be using that

Well, since you (didn't) ask,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdf417encode/
and then
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdf417decode/
to decode it.
Its free too - but it would probably require some modification to output correctly to your system.

Wasn't there a merchandising thread somewhere somewhen?
I'd like to think that if enough people were to put there names down as definate buyers at a given price, then the beeb would make some things. Never known them to turn down a profit.

Pastey Posted Sep 3, 2002
A quick flick through google gives the prices for custom mouse mats as...
1-99 , £9.99per mat
99-249, £3.30per mat
250 - 499, £2.03per mat
500 - 749, £1.61per mat
750 - 999, £1.49per mat.
these prices include vat and shipping to a single uk address, so futher postage would have to be taken into consideration. But, given that a mouse mat is light it wouldn't take more than a couple of quid to post it globally.
And I'm sure that the beeb would be able to get them done even cheaper than there prices. If not... we could possibly do them ourselves. Would that be in breach of house rules?

Natalie says they must be the most expensive mouse mats on the planet if you only want a few!
We're (still) looking into it, so Don't Panic!

Not a very good idea! Then we'd have to spend time chasing you down.
Just like the two blokes that imported fake tweenies...

Chasing us down? For getting Post mouse mats?
As far as I understand the rules, we wouldn't be breaking them
So what's this about fake tweenies? D'you mean there are real ones?
I.D cards?
Mina Posted Sep 4, 2002
We like chasing people!
Apparently a couple of guys imported about 300,000 fake Tweenie dolls (I thought the real ones *were* real!! ), and put them in arcades in those crane games. Cnn't find a news story on it though. That's what happens when you live in Norfolk.

I misunderstood what Pastey was saying, I didn't realise that he meant The Post.
Key: Complain about this post
