Why is there no link to the Hitchhiker's Game on the h2g2 Front Page?
It would be easier if I could get to the game from the Front Page.

The Hitchhiker's Game is being hosted by Radio 4, not h2g2. We could add a link to the game though, I suppose...

It would save this question, as it does get asked a lot. Can you guys ever do enough to keep us satisfied?!

The allegedly related BBC links to other dna sites and message boards aren't hosted by h2g2 either and that hasn't stopped the h2g2 front page from advertising them. It's probably more that the game is now considered passe, as the new Hitch-Hiker's film in turn also became passe after its period of being advertised on h2g2.

Is there any need for the tone of that posting? 'Allegedly' indeed? Do you feel any of the links we've provided are not remotely linked to what we do here?

It was simply that we thought we'd give other parts of the Beeb a go in return for reciprocal links. We can only fit a limited number on there and it made sense to move things around every now and then. We'll be moving them around again soon, I expect. That okay with you, SEF?

Apparently the distributors are waiting until the major Summer blockbuster season is over before releasing the movie in most European markets. Makes sense to me - Hitch Hiker's might be completely overshadowed if it was released opposite War of the Worlds or Batman Begins. I *believe* that early September was being mentioned, but if anyone has any more concrete news, it'd be good to let us all know!

There's a clear editorial justification for focusing on the film's launch as we did, and it's of particular interest to a large part fo our audience. But it's unlikely we'll be looking at the DVD releases specifically without some other editorial content behind it because that might be viewed as veering too close to a commercial promotion. It's something we constantly reviewed during our build-up to the launch of the film.
