Not sure if this is the right place for this.
I was wondering if it would be possible for new threads started by researchers on pre-mod, or new threads where the first message is moderated - instead of having the thread there with nothing to see in the message and < no subject > as a subject - can they be hidden until the first message is approved?

I'll make sure that Pastey and Maria notice this suggestion Sho. We are mindful of the detrimental effect that hidden posts can have to the rest of the community.
Thanks for giving this some thought. I'm certain we all appreciate it.

It's certainly the right place to post it, and I think it's a great idea. I'm not sure I can do anything with it at the moment, but I'll certainly look into it when we do the full rebuild.

The moderators do try to keep an eye out for this as best we can, too, because we know how it disrupts conversation flow. Normally, if the first post in a thread is moderated, the entire thread will be hidden, if no replies have been posted before the OP is moderated. But we don't always see them in time.
I'll talk with Pastey and Milla about the technical possibilities that might help alleviate this.
