if one could find out about the existing gadgets without trawling through miles and miles of conversation. Not that I care now that I've learned about the incredibly usefull popupconversation gadget, but I've tried to find info about it through a search of the guide and failed. How come absolutely no-one has made a tiny little entry titled Popupconversations gadget and explained its usefulness there. Would have saved me sever hours of my employers time.

It appears that in my infinite wisdom I failed to try filtering all the ordinary entries out. I guess I have to come up with a different rant then: How come usefull stuff like the GuideML pages come up at the very end of a search, under the "Found on other sites"-heading. It's counterintuitive. Yeah, that's it, I'm not to blame for this, wheee.

It is slightly confusing that these entries are on the Hub now, as they don't show up in h2g2 searches. I'll look into having copies on h2g2 as well, or something else equally useful.

My problem would have been solved had there been a page on h2g2 listing all the GuideML pages now moved to the hub... hm, maybe having copies would be less work.

I've had a look, and they do show up in the h2g2 search after all, but only after all the h2g2 entries. Which isn't very helpful when the best match is only shown after nearly 400 other entries.

I'm going to go out on a limb and talk about things I don't really know anything about, without doing any research. (As I always do.) I don't know how the search function works, but would it be possible to not define the hub as "other site"? Or is there stuff on the hub that wouldn't be of interest to a hootooer doing a search?

It does come up as 'other sites'. Unfortunately there's a lot of crap on h2g2 to get through first, and I don't think that anyone is going to scroll through the search results 20 times to find it.

they say it on radio one, and in neighbours, so it must be ok
oh and mina, i don't think i can ever forgive you for saying bits of h2g2 are crap
