I'm afraid you can put me down with your other researcher B'el ~ The bread that is - not your entry.
About 10 years ago my daughters went to Austria with the Guides - One of their day trips was to some Schloss somewhere, which held the museum of German bread - in it was a 150 year old Tyrolean loaf - they still talk about this.
Mainly they say "Why?"

Thanks, McKay.
Yes, why are we so fascinated with archaeology? Why keep a loaf of bread that's only 150 years old? I understand the question.

Psycorp.
I quite like some pumpernickel now and then. I seem to recall that it was a treat when we were little.

Remind me to do a blitz on the spelling and punctuation of this before it is picked, Bel.
Not much wrong with the content. I'd say "a reason to want to be German" rather than "a bribe".

Thanks, Gnomon. Funny, I just told a friend that I was waiting for somebody to point out my mistakes, cause I know they are there, it's just that I can't find them myself.
I'll change as you suggested. It was a bit difficult to decide what to write, because I haven't seen Blackadder.

I was just going to start on the spelling etc, but Gnomon's far more suited to the job than I am, and it's better for an editor to tweak it in the background than to parade all the silly nitpicks here for everyone to read.
Thanks for the link to my German bread entry. The black breads are mentioned in that entry, but in a very superficial way.

Oh, don't you worry baout it being public, I'm used to it, and it saves the sub-ed a lot of work.
Did you know that your entry on German Bread was the very first guide entry I read on here? I think I even commented, but don't recall it exactly.

Ah! - so that's where we first met. And how your English has improved since then!!! Not that it was bad then, but a bit uncertain.

This is a mighty fine piece B'El and I'm sure it will soon be seen on the Front Page. I have no nitpicks to make.
I was wondering whether some Researchers may wish to try making this but then h2g2 may become a smelly place

Thank you, Opti.
The bread is said to have a special flavour, and I guess there'd be a certain smell during fermentation and baking.
I haven't tried making my own, maybe I should.
