Top stuff - I thought about adding links but wasn't sure if I was supposed to. Guess now I'll have a trawl through h2g2 and see if there's any good 'uns to add too..
I'll also check my spelling and italics!
Ta V much,

An interesting and informative piece...
I must confess the title threw me a little...I thought the 'Trombone shot' was a new tequila-drinking technique...

Will take it under advice. h2g2 links only me thinks.
Don't like this zephyr business, sounds painful...

OK, I've been thru and added h2g2 links, checked spelling and other sore points and *hopefully* have finished with a flourish of my quill and tap of my glass eye on a good 'un...
but can you let me know if I've screwed up?
Ta V much; thanks to y'all.

I think it would be useful if you told us what the trombone shot was in the intro paragraph. Saying "this shot" when the reader is still not certain what that is, can make the article difficult to understand at the beginning. Otherwise, nice piece

Cheers you guys! I'll have a look at the opening if it isn't that obvious to others what I'm on about. Meantime if anyone's interested in picking this up for editing let me know - I've got loads more ideas I'd like to write but prefer to take it one step at a time...
And please, keep up the feedback - good and bad!
Thanks,
Smooshie

I had a think about this and thought just a tweak to the title might be enough, rather than rewording the intro, something like "The 'Trombone' Shot - a filmmaking technique".
Or not

Don't give too much away in the intro Smooshie - it'll lessen the impact of the main part of the entry. Perhaps you could hint at the way it makes your eyes go the first time you see it, and every once in a while after that too, even when you know how it's done.

Cool stuff - I like the idea of mentioning how it screws with your eyes long after you've seen it; apparently Hitchcock, when he first came up with the idea, wanted to use it to reproduce the displaced feeling you get after drinking too much or staring at something too hard for too long...
Hey, maybe I can put that in it too?
tweaky tweaky!
I think you might be right about the title as well - maybe a tiny explanation rather than an ambiguous one might help bring the readers in?

We just watched some bits of Vertigo in school, so now I actually know what you mean by a 'trombone' shot! Cool!
And no, I haven't got anything constructive to add...

OK. I prefer complete titles, but hey...
Great Entry.
Note: The PR process might take time, after a scout picks it it also takes time until the subbie subs it and until the Eds Front-page it. And most importantly, also I am looking forward to read more, if you have many more ideas, best thing is to get writing!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
