Great show, with a great cast How about revisiting it, looking at Wolfie in the Nineties, or the Noughties (what a weird term that is) what would he have to say about the fall of the Iron Curtain? The present day government? Fulham FC? Will he be able to play the guitar yet?
It would be interesting to get Robert Lindsay to revisit his character, playing an older (wiser?) anarchist. Would his favourite pub – The Vigilante – have turned into a brewery owned fun pub? Would Mrs Johnson still call him Foxy? Is he still in jail after trying to hold Parliament to ransom?
Some great moments in the original series, well worth revisiting. I was going to put some here, but it'd be a bit like re-enacting your favourite Fast Show sketch in the pub the day after
Another Robert Lindsay show i'd like to see again is 'Get Some In' a comedy based in an RAF camp during the days of National Service, anyone else remember that one?

Hey Blackberry Cat
I've just checked Amazon (always a fatal mistake) They've got DVDs of Citizen Smith, with 2 series' worth on each DVD, for less than a tenner each!
Nnnnggghh.... must.... resist.... buying.... them.....
I've just been and splurged out on two Dr Who DVDs so i'll have to resist, at least 'til i've watched those.

less than a tenner
that is tempting
you know for someone who doesn't have a TV I watch an awful lot of tv programs

How do you do it then? receive the signals from the air and decode them straight into your brain?
Only got one more Dr Who story to watch before I can buy some more

As long as it has the original Mr Johnson in it too, who called him "That damn Yeti"

Anyone remember Robert Lindsay's finest moment, 'Nightingales'? 'Twas a sitcom with a nicely surreal edge about night watch security guards. Horrendously scheduling by C4 meant that the only people likely to be up to see it were, erm, night watch security guards (and insomniac unemployed stoners - since reformed).
Not really suitable for a remake, but it was be nice to see it again (I remeber laughing a lot but can't actually remember why - but I'm sure a kettle featured prominently).

Good plan, I do that too, it's just a pain having to reach forward from comfy chair to select menu items with the mouse or keyboard
Only recent TV prog. worth watching at the moment seems to be Doctor Who. I've only seen 2 weeks and i'm in love with the whole thing

I liked the first couple of series of Daziell and Pascoe but it seems to have declined in quality now and I like Black Books but thats between series so yes there isn't much to watch at the mo, plus I work shifts so watching a series is out
when I visit people they always seem to have either sport or ing DIY/garden makeovers
maybe there are lots of brilliant programs on tv and I've just got friends and relatives with cr*p (IMO) taste

Black Books is great! I hope they're making a new series.
I know what you mean about sport/gardening/house-selling/antique selling/any old we found in the loft selling/DIY programmes. Anything with 'real' people in it too. That's why i'm so glad The Doctor is back on Saturday nights, quality drama! isn't that what we pay our licence fees for? *climbs down off soapbox*
And don't get me started on snooker...

one of my friends Italian mother-in-law thought BBC2 was a snooker channel when she visited
at least the BBC does still make some drama
whatever happened to Channel 4?
Citizen Smith?
Langly Posted Apr 18, 2005
Channel 4? Shouldn't that be renamed Channel Friends?
It wouldn't be so bad if they showed it in chronological (typing that made me slow down!) order, makes even less sense than it used to when it was on once a week.
Mind you, Channel 4 do have Scraphead Challenge, Stargate, Salvage Squad and... er.... that's about it really

But thats half the problem with Channel 4
They only make programs themselves if they're cheap
The good stuff is American - Sopranos, West Wing, Stargate, Angel
This from the channel that gave us GBH

Good point
BBC2 is giving me GBH at the moment...
'And now, over to the Crucible for the snooker'...
