Nice article about DB - a couple of comments
As a Brit, we all expect that the trains in Germany to run like clockwork. What a surprise to find that the clock is a bit rusty - our local commuter train to the middle of Frankfurt is regularly late and even occasionally early (a real bummer to turn up on time and see the back of the train vanishing towards Frankfurt) and most irritating deleted.

All too true, unfortunately. I sometimes wonder why they bother even to give such precise indications for departures and arrivals when it might be easier and more accurate to say 'roughly around three pm'...
Nevertheless, I think that the DB doesn't deseve its bad reputation. After all, the trains run *comparatively* punctually. And the employees are abandoning their 'who are you to ask my help' attitude.
And I can travel from Düsseldorf to my truly remote and small hometown, roughly 600 km away, without changing trains once, which I simply find amazing.
