Came across h2g2 by accident (not really, in fact: read an article by DA in a German magazine, commenting on the Internet in general and praising h2g2 in particular), had a look at it, and thought, home at last.
Who or what am I: barely twenty, I am The Average German Girl (so excuse my English), I do literary translation studies at the University of shall we say aesthetically challenged Duesseldorf.
Having moved here about half a year ago, I am currently exploring the aspects of Leading An Independent Life such as "But of course you can stay in bed all day long, no problem" and "Well you know that fridge is going to stay empty unless you put some food in it". I think I'm getting along rather well, only that fridge is starting to seriously worrying me.
When I'm not surrounded by piles of dictionaries, you will probably find me filling and/or emptying ashtrays, watching every kind of movie imaginable, musing on the things that make being alive a rather nice state of being after all, and feeling generally self-conscious.
(Oh, and having a drink or two.)
