Traveller in Time doing the electron dance
"Just keep in mind all the 'explainations' in the books are nothing more then models of the reality. There is no such thing as photons deciding what state they are going to use in passing a test object. It is there nature to show one property or the other.

I thought that I'd answered but can't find it anymore. it seems that it went up into space so who knows?
Anyway, If the photon or electron does not change its mind half way when it comes up against the 2 slit barrier it's going to stay as a particle and will not cause interference which is its wave property. It only remains as a particle if we try to measure it and collapse the wave.
It doesn't really matter, it's just that the scientists are also baffled so they try hard with paricle/wave which doesn't really stick. Better to see it as a extremely high frequency packet that looks like a particle then it makes more sense.
Thanks for taking the trouble to explain it.

Oh yes, I am not an expert on these things, perhaps try 'Gnomon' or 'Baryonic Being'.
you will find them both on my friends list. "
