My basic problem with this entry is the same as for the turns entry currently in Peer Review -- it assumes that people already know the basic positions. As I've mentioned in that PR thread, linking to your entry on the basic positions doesn't really help for right now, as entries in the Edited Guide (EG) are only allowed to link to other EG entries. I really think you'd have better luck with this series if you started with the foundational pieces, and worked your way from there -- this seems a rather backwards approach.

I'm confused this is the next step after the basic positions and I've commented it to say that it's recommended to read the basic positions entry first, as there is no way to put everything in one entry as it would be way to long.

Ah, then you need to link to the Edited Guide version of the entry, and not to your own personal copy. The Edited Guide version is at A3788850, and you've linked to A3636731.

It's a shame it doesn't stay the same article number or get transferred over or something

No, because then people would complain that the version that was 100% theirs was no longer in the guide -- changes are made when an entry is sub-edited and put into the Edited Guide, and so both the original and edited copy are kept. The author retains editing rights to the original copy, but not to the EG version.

I should be able to do some work on the other entries as I have next week off in between changing jobs.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
