Traveller in Time smiley - tit having the same problems in any language
"I do disagree with english to be a difficult language to learn. Seeing the concept of 'Basic English' using just a few hundred words to express nearly everything.

I gather for anyone willing to learn it is pretty easy to start and manage to communicate using it. Perfection is something else however, practising will have to do the trick. Oh yes and a lot of reading as well."

You can call me TC

Tiny correction:

The weather forcast said it would rain.

*forecast*

....

OK my homophones:

Actually these two don't sound alike at all, but they're always spelt wrongly:

______________________________________________________

loose (adj.)

(with a short vowel and voiceless "s" sound)

(a) Unattached - The horses were running loose in the field
(b) not quite fixed - The buttons are coming loose on my cardigan.
(c) not strictly abiding to rules or preconceptions - This is a loose description of my plan. The vicar preached about people with loose morals.
--------------------
lose (v)

(with a long vowel and voiced "s" sound)

To misplace an object, not to be able to find it again.

_____________________________________________________________

smiley - eurekasmiley - eurekasmiley - eurekasmiley - eurekasmiley - eureka

your - (possessive pronoun of "you")

Belonging to the second person singular or plural.

Please mind your head.

--------------------------

you're - as with "They're" above - is short for you are.

Watch what you're saying!

There's certain amount of irony to this Entry, (which I'm intending as a help page) the irony is, that I'll need help with it, smiley - erm like forcast ~> forecast smiley - doh

I did 'Spell Checker' A1022897 as a help page, and I'm terrible at spelling. I like a challenge smiley - smiley

I'll add some more to this Entry in a few days, trying to get another Entry finished at the moment. smiley - ok

Kat - From H2G2

Personal: relating to a particular person- "It's my personal trick"
Personnel: the people employed by a company- "The office personnel were not impressed by the pay cut"

I know they don't necessarily sound the same but they are frequently confused or spelt oddly.

fur: thick hairy coat covering all, or areas of, an animal's body- "I buried my nose in the dog's fur"
fir: an evergreen tree- "The forest is full of fir trees"

pair: two things put together as one unit- "a pair of socks"
pear: a fruit commonly grown in England- "I bought you a perfect pear"

Oh no! I've suddenly thought of SO many and you said not to post more than three!!
