I haven't been able to locate a copy at any of the local video shops, so I might have to sit this one out and just see what you all think of it.

Within the next few months we'll be deciding if we're getting our own Netflix subscription come summer- might motivate me to rent more movies and buy less. smiley - winkeye

My rental should arrive from Netflix in just a few days.

Can I suggest one for next month? I really want to see "The Legend of 1900" about a man who lives his entire life on a ship. Stars Tim Roth.

Looks good! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120731/

I 've liked Tim Roth ever since I saw him in Made In Britain http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084287/

Can I suggest one for future viewing as well? I've been itching to see "Through A Glass Darkly" (or "SÃ¥som i en Spegel") for quite a long time: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055499/.

I have another idea...the monthly thing probably isn't going to work.

So...let's change the 'rules'. If someone wants to discuss a film, start a new conversation for it at the Film Club page - eg 'Discussing Dumb and Dumberer'. Then anyone can pitch in whenever they want. I'll also post some links on the page.

I've seen Through A Glass Darkly - many, many years ago. I can't say I'm a major Bergman fan - I know one is *meant* to be - although I did enjoy Fanny and Alexander (Bergman Lite?)

I'll start a Noi concversation when I get a moment.

Watched Scorsese's 'After Hours' this weekend - I'd seen it at least twice, but not for a while. A thoroughly hilarious, nightmarish film. It reminded me a lot of one of my hypomanic episodes in which I just couldn't get anything to go right.

"Roger" on new rules. I wasn't getting into Noi Albino much, lol smiley - laugh, the part I did watch. Will report back as soon as I get ahold of Legend of 1900, or anything else interesting. I did watch Varian's War, which was interesting from an information standpoint, but was not a great movie, although it did have good acting.

Oh, and I loved After Hours! I agree, what a trip! It did seem like a mania.

I'm not a big fan of Scorcese. But I am a huge fan of Berman. Just one more reason why this forum is increasingly interesting for me. smiley - winkeye

K's been bugging me to watch "After Hours" (haven't seen it in years), and "Mean Streets" (never bothered with it). Maybe I'll give Scorcese another try.

I am dying to see "THX 1138" again. I strongly advise any of you who check it out NOT to waste their time on the director's cut. All of the stuff Lucas added to it is garbage.

Meanwhile, I've re-watched a few favorites I'd like to recommend if you haven't seen them: "Seconds" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060955/, "Eyes Without a Face" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053459/, "Gojira" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047034/, and one of my all-time favorites, "The Seventh Seal" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050976/. To name a few.

Thanks for all the great ideas, guys! smiley - smiley

Should read "Bergman". Having trouble typing today- I slipped on black ice on the way to work and hurt my wrist quite a bit.

Oooh, and thanks to Maniacal Vixen, I received an offer for one month free rentals when setting up a Netflix account (which I was going to do in May, anyway). So as of today, we've got one. It seems like it's the unlimited three-at-a-time deal, I'll have to verify that... so I'll actually have better odds of finding the films you guys recommend. I'll have both the Netflix and the $2 each indie rental store by the house. smiley - smiley

Already found one I've never seen that I'm dying to- "Peter Rottentail", a horror flick, and one I've seen before but not for a long time- "Aguirre: The Wrath of God" (I love Klaus Kinski!). smiley - biggrin

Has anyone here seen "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra"?

I watched it, couldn't make any sense of it, and promptly forgot it.

Until ... dum! dum! dumm! NOW!

Something to do with aliens, a geologist, a cat in human form, and an interfering skeleton.
