There used to be an interesting discussion here, but it disappeared when bbc.co.uk took over. If you have contributions, please feel free to enter them here. I will write the entry if the conversation reappears, or if I get enough material in a new one.

The prefered place for this discusion is on the miscellanious chat forum at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/FLR16034?thread=105803&post=886853 where replys have already started to come in. ps the old thread will probably be back eventually, it is most likely stuck in moderation hell.

OK.
When I started this discussion the old Don't Panic page, I was told the proper way to do it was creating a separate guide entry for the conversation. I understand that customs change more quickly than I can adapt, and I will try to keep more updated about what's proper and what's not in the future .

There are reasons for both. Lots of people lurk at miscellanious chat, so there are lots of people there to answer your quetion. Once you have enough stuff to start a page, and decide to start one, then the page makes a good summary of the current state of development of the ideas, so you then link the thread to the page, and the page to the thread. When you think that the page is nearing completion, you can post to the creative writing and peer review pages.
