I've been intending to write an entry on York for ages, so this is exactly the quick up the backside I need! I'm there at the moment, so I have all the up-to-date info!
Any other York students/alumni who want to help?
I'll get going on an entry and post the A number here.

Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Apr 29, 2006
I went to an open day at York, mainly just to get a day off college. The only think I really remember about the place is the sheer volume of ducks.

Oh yes. And believe me, that will be in the entry! I live in one of the colleges closest to the lake, so we get it a lot!

I may actually be banned from York for chasing ducks and playing Time Crisis loudly while someone was trying to do some sort of talk next door. Needless to say the mate I went with (who had actually applied) didn't end up going to York...

I clearly remember listening to a Harry Enfield radio interview where he said that he chose to study at York because he loved ducks!
Other famous alumni: Adam Hart-Davis, Peter Hitchens, Oona King, Christine Hamilton, Victor Lewis-Smith, Tony Banks, Graham Swift and Greg Dyke (who is now its chancellor).

Sorry Natalie, somehow I totally missed this post!
I've added a bit, but it may take some time to get it finished. I know what I want to say, it's just a question of getting the time to stick it all down.
I'll add you to the entry for the links if you like.

Of course, the really relevant thing about York uni is the utterly fantastic society DougSoc.

That event first occurred in the living room of 229 Tang Hall Lane, on the date of DNAs demise. Ah... uni nostalgia is such fun
