Yeah, I was thinking of Marty myself. The hardest thing about the sports section is going to be narrowing it down to five nominees...

I'm not sure, though there are a bunch that I would prefer to not be around, there are very few that I actively dislike.

I would like to nominate Shaq, just because he can't make a free throw to save his life. I mean, how hard is it, you get to stand in the same spot, it's a fixed distance, there is no one trying to block it. He makes how much? You would think that he could take an hour out of each day and just practice them. He even gets people to shag his balls for him.

I dunno about Shaq. Yeah, his shooting is laughable, but he's not really a disgrace to the human race, which is what the George Fideaux award is all about. Maybe I should post something to that effect to the top of the article.

How about Hansie Cronje. Once the golden wonder boy of South African cricket. A really good player and for a time the team captin. Now he's up against a judge who tells him he may not face criminal prosecution of he tells the truth about what happened and why there are many fingers (including players who have testified already) pointing and saying he took bribes to secure the outcome of certain matches.

So here is a man who has good enough talent to play for his national team (one of the best in the world as well) and yet he is a greedy little **** who took bribes to secure certain results.

Perfect! I was hoping for more of an international flavor... I might even vote for the dude myself, even though I'd never heard of him until just now.
