Ming's name, and where it comes from

Wow, Magnolia's good. I don't know how much resemblance that name analysis bore to you, but it sounded pretty good anyhow.
By the way: Ming the Merciless comes from Flash Gordon... I think. I'm fairly sure. Well, alright, I think I'm fairly sure, but I may possibly actually know I'm wrong. But I think I'm right. There's probably an entry somewhere, but I for one can't be bothered with the search.
Great film, Flash Gordon. I'm not a fully qualified film critic, though, so if you haven't seen it then don't just take my word for it!

*grins* I said it needed updating for that very reason!! I've seen the film, and yes it is good. Not great though. But I'm not a film critic either!

Hey Ming Mang! You said I should check where your name comes from, so I did! Tell me, do you know where Magnolia's space is? I haven't seen her in a long time, I misplaced her address! I would also have talked about 'yin-yang' if I did the username analysis! You know, both 'Ming' and 'Mang' are actual Chinese names!

Sure, Magnolia's space is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/U118979 but she hasn't posted since June 6th.
Oh really? What would you have said about the yin-yang then?
Yes, I did know. And I wonder that if I make up words that are Chinese names, what words are that they make up...

Thanks for Magnolia's address! I hope she turns up again sometime.
What would I have said about yin-yang? Well, your name does sound like yin-yang, which suggests something really 'deep', like you're a person with these two different sides, a 'lighter' side and a 'darker' side, but they're in balance and you're a well-rounded individual! And the yin-yang sign also looks like a yo-yo, so it's a bit silly also! Well, that's what it suggests to me!

Hey thanks for the compliment! Me and Magnolia used to get along rather well!
Another person who does name reading is Martin (a.k.a. Lucinda, Xanthia, and others):

I will reply to your email soon! I think I'm going to try and retouch the pictures you sent me, and send them back! How about that?

That's OK! It sounded very much like me!
