Thank you!!! And I hope you don't mind the link to your Guide Entry. Thought it was about time there was a Dire Straits fanclub here, esp coz they were actually in the books.

Thanks!! And if you know any more fans, send them this direction.
How'd you come across the club anyway?

Oh! You mean that sort of thing works? I know I'd put an ad into the Post, but I've no idea who looks at it, if anyone.
But it's nice to know people can find the page if they want.

yeah...
Unfortunately if I knew a bit more i'd tell you, but I don't. I missed him on the radio, he was interviewed by Johnnie walker on the new sunday show on R2 last week...

This seems to happen to you a lot doesm't it? You hear new stuff and then they never play it again. Maybe it's a ploy to get you to get so fed up not hearing it that you go out and buy the CD.

Anyone watch that 7 ages of rock thing on the telly a while ago? Mark was on there demonstrating how to play money for nothing. Guitar lessons from another master....
I can play Local Hero!
Heres another thing. Went out for a family get together at a pub in Southampton recently. There were loads of pictures of rock stars on the walls, including a guy I could't quite identify. I asked the bar staff and it was the bass player from Dire Straits (his name escapes me). Turns out he owns the pub!

Eh up, this is pretty well hidden!
As I've recently rekindled my love for Dire Straits (especially Love Over Gold & Alchemy) I'd be most chuffed if I could join.

Love over gold is a fantastically briliant song. Came across it on a compilation cd ages ago and instantly fell in love with it.
