The chocolate was fabulous. Though perhaps mid-July is not the best time for chocolate to be sitting in a Chicago mail box. I had to stick it in the freezer for a bit to solidify it enough to eat without a spoon. It was yummy!

I know I don't have to send anything... it was just that I have something I don't necessarily need and I thought you might like. But I won't bully you into taking it.

Am I weird for preferring the Donna companion for the Doctor over Rose and Martha? I didn't dislike any episode and don't dislike either of the other companions, but Donna just clicks somehow. Plus she's so ornery.

I really liked Martha, and Donna grew on me (especially the last ep of the season). I thought Rose was ok, but that whole lovey-dovey sappy stuff got on my nerves.

Mind you, of course, we grew up with doctors who were more like your dad, so that aspect of it never occurred to me. Now we have a doctor it might be different if I was a bright young thing!

Before I'd seen it, I'd heard so much negative about the lovey-dovey sappy stuff that it was actually less so than I'd expected. It was a mild irritant but not as bad as I thought.

I'd heard a lot of people say negative stuff about Martha, too, but I thought she was a pretty strong character and I liked the way she came through for the Doctor practically on her own when the Master was up to no good.

But yes, you're probably right- if I were 19 I might wind up developing a huge silly crush like Rose did. The guy is and I love his personality.

Personally I enjoy the way that the doctor is so brilliant about time and science but basically hapless about human emotions.

One of my favourite eps of "new Who" is the one with Mme de Pompadour. David Tenant played it beautifully - even though the story didn't really hold water when you think about it closely.

Mind you, every now and again we find one of the Christopher Ecclestone eps on BBC3 and then I like him better.

I'm going to rent those after the Baker eps.

I also liked the Mme de Pampadour one. And of course the one with the Daleks and the Cybermen.

I'm trying to collect all the eps - they are often on in the evening. If ever I get a whole season, I'll bung them over to you if you like

I've just finished getting all of the first two Tennant seasons (splurged with that gift voucher they presented me at work- seemed a good use for it). I could make the same offer to you, if you liked. I don't think I can make them region 2, but I can make them region-free. We've got the Ecclestone ones lined up for once I've got all the Bakers collected.
