Does the 638 in your name represent the number of words you've written so far in the NaNoWriMo?

unfortunately yes - 1 November is a holiday here and I usually get a good start. But I had to work yesterday and afterwards I couldn't get into it.
however I made up some of my backlog this morning and anticipate that within a few days I'll be back on target.

work exploded
when I get home at gone 8pm
and I get up at 5am
it leaves no time for anything apart from checking homework, eating (sometimes) housework (a bit) and sleeping...
it was rubbish anyway

Hi Sho. The photographers/artists group are looking to illustrate an entry "The A - Z of Black". I thought of something like this:

(which is not a free image) and then I thought, now who has a black cat that they could photograph?

Hi Gno!
what a lovely photograph that is!
When would you need it? I'm at my mum's at the moment and I won't be going back to Germany until 20th Feb.
On the other hand I do have a photo of Pippin The Wonder Cat (TM) on Facebook which you might be able to use? (he does have a few white hairs on his chest though)

How big is the picture on facebook? We need it to be at least 400 pixels along the long axis.
If you let me know where it is, I can submit it to the artists' forum and see what they think. I'm not guaranteeing they'll accept it, no matter how good it is. But it would ease the pressure on them slightly, as they many, many entries to find pictures for.

I'll have a look when I get home. Can't look at Facebook when I'm in work.

Hi Sho. I'm writing an Entry on tourist sights in Istanbul, and I want to mention the public transport system, but I don't know much about it, having only travelled on one tram and one funicular.
Have you used the Metro system? Did you travel on it from the airport? Do you remember how much it cost?

Sho - employed again! Posted Mar 23, 2014
I used the metro system to travel from our office to Taksim but I can't remember how much it cost because I went with our Turkish colleagues and they paid for us.
I can ask them though, if you like?
mostly when I'm there I use a taxi - I stay at the Conrad in Besiktas and if I could only remember where our office was it would be a help!
and I always use a taxi from the airport - mostly when I suggest using the metro or something on my own the Turkish guys get all horrified and tell me not to!

Hi Gno
sorry for the delay - month end approaches...
I asked my colleague in our office in Istanbul. They all use something that sounds similar to either an Oyster card or my electronic season ticket (i pay a monthly amount for unlimited travel in the area) which means that particular journey costs TL 1,95
if you pay normally for a one time journey it's TL 3,00
That is to Taksim (which is a great place to go as you know) from our office in Maslak (which is close to the Istinye area where there is one of the many expensive shopping malls) on the European side
I hope that's of some help?

i found it quick, quiet, full and very well used. The stations that I saw were clean with no litter - some older than others but not dank and gloomy like some of the UK ones are

There is a distinct possiblity I'll be back there in April or May and hopefully this time I'll see a bit (lot) more of the place

My entry is based on three solid days of sightseeing, with a lot of research beforehand.
