I sympathise with you. Recently I also have been playing music through headphones very loud - too loud and I am now slightly deaf!some words are unclear also. I often miss words that people are saying - I put this down to lack of concentration mainly. How unfortunate for you. However I know of someone a long time ago who had the same problem she was a nurse and it nearly drove her mad too. You may like to try and play different sounds to yourself to see if this alleviates the problem somewhat.

This is on an old version of SS so missed it, tinnitus is annoying though!

I have the same sort of thing ringing in my ears but i can't complain as its my own fault. I always have music playing apart from sleeping when i'm normally tired enough not to notice it!

my tinnitus seems to be worse at moment...loud music and headphones in past certainly added to it, age is adding to it now.

Sorry to hear that, I didn't realise that it got worse as you go older.
One of my friends has got it as he had hearing problems as a small kid. I just wish that there was a way that they could fix it.
