Okay.. my card (your design) is now viewable on http://www.h2g2.com/A222706 ... and for you...

'Nonnie, I'm touched. Thanks!
*twitches whiskers tentatively, beard gets tangled*
Nice job adapting it for yourself, as well.
I see we have some similar Freedom of Speech interests. My only previous involvement with an online community was 24 Hours of Democracy, which came together at the beginning of the CDA stuff.
I've already met so many interesting people in my first week at h2g2.

I see you found my 'original' page, though in it's third life with all the additions.
Yes, I do remember well the CDA black-out. Freedom of -Choice- (which includes the freedom to choose what we speak, of course) is my big concern.. Right next to the Right to Privacy.. All of which I seem to be sadly watching slipping away of late.
But... hope springs eternal, and h2g2 (I was here when it was mostly fields, but there was a growing community in the midst ) was an artesian.

PS *blush* Thanks.

Yeah, you're "original" page is certainly an interesting hodge-podge, 'Nonnie.
I agree completely that personal freedoms and privacy are in constant danger these days. The sad thing is that not only are governments anxious to step in and take away freedoms and invade our privacy, bedrooms, and bodies, but too often the population is unwilling to step up and protect those freedoms.
The internet is one of the bright spots of the last decade, because it's so hard to control
*gets off soapbox, as he realizes he's preaching to the choir*
That's great that you've been here since the early days. It must have been interesting to see the community spring up!

Exactly. Or even encouraging the stripping of liberties in an effort to gain some temporary illusion of safty. I hate it when I see society being led around by the nose, like a flock of sheep, when a little bit of indivudual thinking could wake them up. Instead, they seem to be afraid of anyone who dares.
Grins.. yup. If we can keep the government out (SftPoGIotI!) this is the one thing in today's world that has a chance to achieve that Peace the world so desperately needs. That and our youth.. (Oh.. sorry.. Just went to a graduation party today. )
Well.. the one thing it -hasn't- been is boring.. It's definitely been interesting.. lots of fun.. sometimes a bit disheartning, but mostly inspiring.

'Nonnie,
I've continued this this thread at
http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=54524&forum=40621
on my home page, since I was enjoying the discussion but I had gotten us off topic for the researcher card.
