I am still working on the story but my time has been limited recently. I have recently been researching more into the ancestral side of the Parker family. With this story being Happy Tom Parkers I do not want to go too far back as it may detract from the main theme.

At the moment I am finding it difficult to fill in the period between 1910 to Happy Toms' death in 1944.

I am going to London again to do some more research at Lambeth Records and at NRO at Kew. I want to fill in dates between 1913 and the two world wars, before I can call it finished.

Hi d_d, technically Peer Review is for finished articles to be reviewed. If there is still research to be done and then written up, then would it be acceptable to you to remove this from review, then resubmit it when it's finished? You'd benefit from new reviewers as wellsmiley - ok

Hi all

I did not realise it would take this long to complete this piece. I am still researching and have now covered Happy Toms' career until 1918. However I am now trying to find the period since then and his subsequent retirement from the stage.

By all means remove this from the review section as I am still working on the piece.

Dulcimer Dave.

Hi David, thank you for getting back to us and for keeping us updated. Some Entries take longer than others - don't worry - in your own good time. This Entry can stay here in Peer Review. Just let us know when you can how things are coming along. We very much look forward to the finished article. smiley - ok

I know it's discouraging to remove an entry temporarily, but in many cases, it's actually better to take it out, finish it, and re-submit it, because you get more interest when it's "fresh" than when it's something that's been sitting in PR for ages smiley - ok

That's a good point Mal. Well, we'll leave it up to you David. Either way, we look forward to seeing this Entry on the front page whenever it's ready. smiley - ok

David, we're going to remove this for the time being but rest assured, we are absolutley dead-keen for you to finish your research and writing (in your own good time of course) and for this to come back into Peer Review and eventually on to the h2g2 front page. Good luck with it and please do keep us informed of your progress.smiley - ok
