for some reason they thought I was you when I submitted my poem just thought I'd mention it. also your story reminded me how my dad's ship always played "On the Road Again" which of course talked about how they loved to do a thing that they acctualy hated doing. leaving my dad hated how they played that song

Hi XS, I never knew anything about that? where is your poem published?
I have a handful of them on my home page, they were in some time ago now. Yea! I used to feel sad when I was leaving as well, but I must admit they kept us so busy at sea in the Navy, you never had time to dwell on it

Cant you open them up in Word? I had to put Word 2003 onto this thing, as all my Snippets were done in Word, and I couldn't access them as they are transferred onto disc?
This PC has Vista, and has a stack of programs that I will never need, yet I cant delete them, as they are default programs

Another good piece Smudger .
You were very spending so much time away from home when working on the oil rigs. I can imagine it was very difficult at times, not to be able to see family and friends for a couple of weeks at a time.
Did you enjoy the job?

Funny you should ask that youngsuper, even though the hours were long and the work was hard, all in bad weather, there was a feeling of belonging out there, that you never got on any of the shore side sites?
As for being away from home, I suppose I was already used to that, after being in the Navy.
I couldn't do it now, it was definitely a young mans job, and you had to be fit and be prepared to work hard
