Oh well. I'll have to make do with your brilliant shorter stories. Or wait until it gets published. smiley - smiley

I've read the rest nyahahahahaaargh etc.

I think you ought to put it all online, if only for a short time.
The way I see it is that if you do get anything published, you'll probably write it specifically for that purpose. Meanwhile it'd be good to get constructive criticism about your writing style from as many people as possible.

Or you could ignore me. Many people do. Including myself. And those strange blue things that wander around kitchens.

Post 13

Bluebottle

I don't really know if that's my writing style, though. It's the style I had when I was 16, which is, in my opinion, quiet different in some ways to how I write now.
But I still don't want to bung it all on-line, though, as it's too long, and I like being able to chose who can read it. smiley - smiley

Post 14

AEndr, The Mad Hatter

I agree, I think your writing style is not the same now as it was back then

Post 15

Bluebottle

How do you know? Compared to how I h2g2, or anything else I've written.

That reminds me, I need to send you that e-mail - I'm not ignoring you, Ændr, honest!

I know cos I have read some of what you have written and have heard storylines of others and your personal style is rather different than that older style, more developed I would say.

... Wow!

Post 17

Bluebottle

Probably is, I'd agree - but then you would expect it to as afterall I was only 16 when I wrote that. I'd expect it to be more developed as, afterall, I have a larger vocabulary now than I did. I'm also trying to write more seriously. So, I agree, but I'm very interested in how.

Post 18

AEndr, The Mad Hatter

erm
I'll have to think about that one
one thing is the sentences
younger people tend to use very long sentences, older people have learnt to break things up into manageable sizes, usually due to having to explain things to others in an understandable way

... Wow!

Post 19

Bluebottle

I wouldn't know about that - you should have seen the way he wrote sentances. He grew up reading Victorian books, and so his writing style was that of a Victorian engineer - VERY long sentances, almost longer than the paragraphs they were inside smiley - winkeye

Post 20

AEndr, The Mad Hatter

well I'm a scientist, notorious for long convoluted passive sentences
but a lot of people calm down the length of their sentences as they age.
anyway, I could tell it as I was talking to you. they're shorter now.
