Talking Point: Dream Dinner Parties

10 Conversations

A scene from Abigail's Party by Mike Leigh.

Dinner Parties are the epitome of civilisation - the chance to take a bit of time and effort over the preparation of yummy food, the company of witty and fascinating to dine with, and a couple of bottles of something exciting to wash the whole evening down. Sadly, the pace of modern living means we rarely get the chance to entertain friends as often as we'd like - in fact, we're more likely to pick up a takeaway than rustle up a four course dinner.

But - just for a moment - we'd like you to imagine your absolute ideal dinner party.

  • Who would you invite - living or dead? Famous or infamous?

  • What food would you serve?

  • Where would you hold the dinner party?

  • Would you have background music? Any live entertainment?

  • Any other individual little touches to make the evening even more memorable?

Share your thoughts and wild imaginings with us in this week's new Talking Point.
