Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde

I've read this on your userpage, when it was squished up in your journal. Now the lines are spread out, and it makes more sense.

Nice sense of rhythm and rhyme. Have you revised this much since you wrote it twenty years ago? ... always a trip to go back to old poems.

There is a fear of giving in to the temptation of writing "marching band" poetry, or poetry with a predictable, somewhat forced cadence throughout. You do not do this.

You combine a renaissance concept and a modern world. Knights are so often depicted as noble, eager, prepared and aware. Your Lancelot is not. He must be confronted with the modern world in his dream state.

I wonder, though.... who is dreaming? Is this a modern person dreaming he is a knight?

It's about a guy who goes to sleep watching a late movie.I used the line "like a Knight from the past" See modern dude having a dream where he was a hero. I thought Sir Lancelots Dream worked for it. A phone ringing woke dude up. So How do you get to the place where you type continuously for 10 or so minutes?

There's a place for that?

.... I did mention freewriting; I am guilty of that. It's something you do on your own, far as I know, though. What kind of writing do you want to produce? Check out your library and see if they have any books full of writing prompts you can try. YEEEHAH!!! smiley - smiley

I know some prompts for poetry.

Ok... so the dude fell asleep watching a late movie... Herrrmmm.... I dunno if that needs more clarity or not... smiley - erm

What kind of writing I would like to get into. Hmmmmmmmm oh I don't know I would like to write fiction I think if I was to get an idea of what knid of style to use it would be of great help. I am currently helping two different people to write books. I'm short of writing skills but long on ideas. I guess I would be an idea guy if you know what I mean. I do think if i was to try your idea about typing for a extended period of time it would help me though. Thanks for the suggestion I'll give it a whirl. E'ya D Toodlessmiley - smiley
