When's it going to happen?
Gnomon - time to move on Posted Oct 27, 2004
We seem to have more or less settled on 8-Jan-2005, but we can't make it definite until someone books a venue. I'm not going to do it, since I am in Dublin (although I'll be in London on Friday).

I think settling a date has to come before sorting a venue.
I'm not getting involved in either as a) I don't have the time
b) I won't be at the meet, although happy to do something on the saturday afternoon if people are interested.

I declare George Bush to be the winner! Oops...
I declare the official date to be the 8th of January 2005.
Now we need someone to organise booking a venue.

Right 8 January it is, I'll get that on teh page later, and can t then drop a note to The Post and other places to advertise in earnes to get as many people signed up as we can.
I'm more than willing to ring up and book the venue as I've done before; but not really knowing the geogrphy of Londond at all well, nor many of the pubs that have been suggested, it would be great if I could.... leave it to yous to figure out which venue sounds best, and I'll give em a call and book it, (pressuming they are free on teh eigth...)

I'm quite busy at the moment, off tomorrow for a few days to Bristol and we I think really* ought to get moving on the venue front I put some of this down in the thread off the main met page about 'venues', but it'd be great if you could arguee amongst youselfves and someone oculd ring a few of the potential venues, or visit them in person if your that way inclined and geogrphically close to them I'm not sure what all the sugestions are are th moment for potential vehues, but I know the:
Shakespears head (high holborn)
Princess louise (high holborn) ((both of which are quite nice and we have been too several times before during the day))
Lord moon of the mal? (where we were during day at one of the previous meets)
Bell book and candle (near ST pauls I think, suggested by Bluesshark for a potential different venue at the last meet, but I was unable to get in contact with them to find anything out at that point)...
and anywhere else you good folk know of in the correct central London type areas (I'm not that famuliar with London)
