Being from the deepest darkest parts of Devon, and having to take a group wandering over the heath armed with freshly-made Bronze Age bread, if I make it I'll arrive in London about lunchtime and have to back at Paddington for 6 pm or I'll miss my train, get stranded and won't be able to make my infamous bread. I vaguely recall that London is a bit of a large place and have no idea how long it would take to get to where everyone is. Is it worth me coming up?

You'll never find a better reason than that.
Wouldn't it be better, to see if someone can put you up for the night, allowing you to stay until late and then go back sunday?

You might be able to sleep on the floor where I'm staying...sorry that isn't the best option in the world...but it's there. Plus if you want I can dart to the station and retrieve you.

Oh wait...sorry, the place I'm staying just said no because the sofa is bust so I'll already be sleeping on the floor and the floor space is the size of a postage stamp...
But I can still get you from the station!

Just the last train leaves about 6pm so, not knowing how long it would take me to get across London Village to wherever everyone's going to be, then have to get back in time.... I thought I'd better check I wouldn't be making a massive journey just to have a pint then leave again! Kind of thing that happens to me usually.... I can't stop over unfortunately as I'm going to be needed on the heath from 10am, armed with bread so really have to make that train! I could get a *slightly* later train if my arm got twisted (ow, Kat, you're hurting me ) and I managed to get the bread done Friday night.
How very h2g2 to have my plans dominated entirely by bread....

Ta Kat you can stop twisting now
I am now 99% sure of being there, the only thing that could possibly stop me would be if I now burn the bread on Friday night (I've only made it once before)! It's not that great anyway 2legs, they didn't use yeast in the bronze age

Well, I suppose I'll see you all in London Village on Saturday then - are we mainly drinking or being cultured?

I'll be mainly drinking and chatting to everyone there are some* going for 'culture' in terms of the gallary tate I think it is, but when I hear the word 'culture' as someone once said, 'I reach for my revolver'
