One of my favouites was in The Sun (UK) and read,
"Suoper CaliAre FantasticCelticAreAtrocious'.
Made me wondfer how long beforehand the Headline writer had thought this up and was waiting for the opportunity for a scoreline suitable to use it!

This is looking really good. I don't know if I include all your 'types' in my personal definition of a pun, they are all worthwhile no matter what they are called.
Two quick things:
1) Ambigrams are known by other names as well. One name, used in an Omni magazine years ago, was 'Designature'. I presume that the prefix is 'Design' as in Designer Signature, rather than 'De-' as in De-Signature.
I have played with them, and rather like mine. I'm sorry that I cannot provide a link.
2) I can provide a link to another guide entry. I wrote one (not for the EG) on Woodworking: A2218565 A Guide to Woodworking Tools and Terms: (UG) (Jan 20, 2004)
Good luck with the piece! I look forward to seeing it on the front page.

Hi, I like this entry. Isn't there a difference between a pun and a double entendre? IMHO, the main diff is that DEs are actually amusing.
What about the 'Tom Swifty.' This is a bizarre type of pun and I have no idea where it got its name. Example: "I'm dying," he croaked.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
