How do I alter my nickname, but shortening it? I cannot change my password either! Under the preferences button I can change things like 'skin' etc but not my Nickname, or password.
What do I do?

that is strange - I can change my nickname under preferences (goo) 
Try the direct link <./>UserDetails</.>
If that doesn't work then it will need a cleverer person than me!

Justin, under the circumstances you'll need to ask the h2g2 Editors to change it for you.

Glad to help, although I should probably have said:
"you'll need to ask the h2g2 Editors *if they will* change it for you"
but good luck anyway.
