LOL. My backyard is one big pool right now. The weather forecast says rain all week, too. I'm glad someone is enjoying nice weather. The sun is starting to peak through the clouds right now.

Hey there everyone!!! alicat, are you speaking of 'MY' Lake Erie?!?
My road begins (or ends-depending if you're coming or going) right at Lake Erie here in Ohio! The River behind my cabin empties into the Lake! cloughie & I were surprised how close we are to eachother! I've spent lots of time in his neck of the woods!
Oh Gwennie, thanks for the ice idea...I've been teasing poor hubby all day-touching him w/a cold drink! He's so 'shock shy' all I need do is walk up behind him & he tightedns up, awaiting the cold to touch him... That's what guys get for going around w/o a shirt!
I'm having a bit of Sloe Gin & O.J.-so I'll toast us all w/that! Cheers-Dears!!!

*Screws up her face*
Eeewwww! I can't stand gin as it tastes like perfume! No! I don't go around drinking perfume, but have accidentally sprayed myself in the mouth when I've not been in control of all my faculties!
My favourites are real ale (bitter), medium/dry cider and vodka (neat).
Mind you, I've not had any vodka in the house for a few months, since my daughter, Mair raided my bottle, decanted it into an empty cola bottle, took it to school and got drunk. Her school phoned me early afternoon to come and get her and her friend who were both drunk. I was so embarrassed! *Gwen cringes at the memory!*
Mair was grounded, with no pocket money, for six months (until September, although I'll reinstate her privilages after her birthday, next month, if she behaves).
Of course, I didn't tell Mair about the times I got drunk in my lunch hour at school (okay I was 15) and used to roll joints under my desk, at the rear of the classroom... However, I was discrete enough not to get caught (unlike my darling daughter)!
Can you imagine sitting through a typing lesson with over 25 typewriters clacking away (we had manual typewriters in those ancient days), with your head spinning? I had to dash to the girls toilets to throw up! Still, at least I learned my lesson and didn't do it again!

Can I imagine it?!? I was the 'ringleader'!!! We would smkoe-whatever we had at the back of typing class & blow the smoke into the closet door! When Mr. whatever his name was would come stopming down the long line of typewritters- in this long narrow room, we'd pass the
joint-or cig...under the tables right past him! The day I had all the kids push the typewritters up to the windows of the courtyard, while poured rain & they all shorted out...was the day they took poor Mr. what's-his-name out of the school building in a straight jacket! I'm not joking either! More than one teacher has changed peofessions because of me! Other teachers would party w/me! Oh my hubby can't believe how 'bad' I was...since I'm so sweet & charming now (HA!), even if I do have to say so myself! Mother stopped coming to the school that year...she'd had enough of my 'creative outlets'! She told the heads of the school board that I was old enough to plot things out to the point of trouble-they could just deal with me the best way they could...she wasn't ever going to answer the phone during school hours again! And by golly-she kept her word! (BTW I HATE gin...tastes like a grapefruit rhind, to me...sloe-gin is sweet red stuff that Sue left here her last visit) Oh could I tell you some things about the school in the city where I grew up!!! Bear always stayed right here in the Village. The school is K thru 12th grade...never even changed buildings!!! It wasn't until he started meeting my old school chums that he stopped thinking I was embelishing my stories! He being 8 years younger & both Grannys and his mother working at his school kept him pretty much towing the line! HA! Could you imagine what it must have been like to have half your family working where you're attending
school?!? I'd have NEVER made it!
Poor Mair...*Pan is wondering how ...from across the pond she can sneek the kid a nice bottle of wine* JUST A JOKE-DON'T HURT ME

LOL. Does Bear ever take a look at these forums? He'd never doubt your stories again. My mother was a secretary in my grade school, up to grade 8. I was actually a pretty good kid until Grade 12. Then I made up for lost time. Cheers. I used to drink Gin and

Nope...after the last time Bear mucked up Mac-he's been banned!
He looks at the nasty sites once in awhile...thinks I don't know-HA!
But he could care less about what I do here! In the past, when I would try to talk to him about h2g2-I could see his eyes glaze over while he thought about power tools He wouldn't know a good time if it fell
on him, which I, er, it does plenty

LOL. How about a drink and a balloon? I've been filling them up for the last couple of hours. It seems like we need some gas to get this party back in gear.

Hi All,
Sorry I've been lax, but I've just recovered from too much IRL partying all Saturday night. I probably won't be here much next week either!! The 4th is the biggest party of the year where I'm from.
Anyway, I used to drink gin & tonics quite often, I'll make a few if anyone would like one. Cheers!

I would love a gin and tonic, cloughie. Maybe two. we have a big thing here called the Friendship Festival. It celebrates Canada Day (July 1st) and the Fourth of July. It takes place in Buffalo and Fort Erie. There are free rock concerts, air shows, carnival rides etc. It will probably rain. It's a fun time. Would you like some of Pandy's nitrous oxide? she gave me a tank to keep. It never runs out.

High-a' kids!!! I just fell asleep at the 'puter...again...time for bed! I've only had 2 hours sleep in two & a half 'daze' I'll be ready-willing-& able very soon!!! (to party, that is) RL people keep coming to visit. And when I try to sleep - the phone won't stop! My favorite Uncle has one foot in the grave and the other foot is
on a banna peel...& my dad's not doing well in the VA Nursing Home...that's why I keep the phone by my side. Sometimes I go to the city & get a room in a nice Hotel w/room service just so I can catch up on my rest!!! Dosen't that seem extreem? But I don't know what else to do? Hopefully the next couple nights will allow me some much needed rest! Hugs all around g-night my loves!!!

I'm trying VERY hard not to become depressed...one of my patients died
of cancer. In '95 she was in a childrens ward-28 kids & only Erin lived! Her parents swear it was because of my intervention. She got to
go to college & party her ass off!!! I made sure she knew that parties
are THE best part of college!!! On Sat. we'll be putting this lovely young girl into the ground Sorry...I'm just gonna' get & stay F'd
up umtil - whenever...So if I'm not here for a few days you'll know that I'm out hating life. I'll probably spen lots of time in the woods
by the river. I'll get myself together better all by myself.
I love you guys! alicat...I'll be here to party with you on the 4th!
Bear is working & I don't dare let myself out alone!!! I get a 'bit' too friendly when I'm in my cups E ya' soon XXXOOOXXX Pan

Take care, dear sister. Don't forget we're here, if and when you need us. I'll be waiting for you on the 4th. We started a new, shorter thread for "Something from Nothing", so it takes no time at all now. I know you're not in the mood for that now. Please don't get too depressed. God needed wonderful, young Erin in Heaven, that's all. She wouldn't want you to be too sad.
Hi cloughie. Almost finished another week, eh? I imagine you won't be around much on the holidays. I'm just sipping beer here.

No, I'll be pretty much away the whole weekend and then some. My Dad's ashes are being spread on the cornfield on Sunday. My cousin has a plane and my Dad always said that when he died, he wanted us to cremate him and have Billy spread him over the cornfield. So that's what we're going to do!
Pandora, remember to celebrate the life your patient had, instead of dwelling on it's end.
Cheers, and a Happy 4th of July to one and all!!!

Hey you guys! I was sorry to dump my saddenss on you-but you were really there for me! And right you are about Erin NOT wanting me to dwell on our loss...I sent peach roses to the funeral home with a card that read: For the newest angel! (And a lilac ribbon...her fav colors)
I'm okay...just need some 'power sleep'!
cloughie-sorry your dad's passed over...but scattering the ashes on a place he loved is VERY cool! My ashes will be tossed into the Ocean.
I just told Bear & our friend Rick (or as he's better known: Smoke-N-
Run), who will be taking care of my ashes to be mindful of which way the wind's blowing!!! G-Night Pals! Oh, I'll be looking forward to the new 'Something' thread-as whenI tried to start one...it was edited right out. I even gave the fellow who started it the credit...nobody bothered to explain why it was 'just removed'. Sorta made me feel like a child! Not quite knowing what I was in trouble for?!? Oh well...I guess they can toss me out of here so I'll keep my vulgar words to myself

Pandy, I'm glad to hear from you. Snikkers was kind enough to start a new thread. I still don't know how to do it myself. I'm hopeless on this computer. I can only start one if it was originally started from one of my journal entries. I'm sure I'm not doing that the right way either. It's probably really easy to do.
when I die, I want to be buried right in the ground, without a casket. I know they won't do that though. If they want to cremate me, they can put the ashes in the composter. Ashes are supposed to be good for plants. I bought a burial plot right next to my Mom's. I want my grave to be unmarked. And I don't want any announcements or funeral. I'd rather people who found out just had a little party and talk about fun and crazy things we did. There's plenty of those.
Would you like a drink and a balloon? The tank you gave me never runs out.

High peeps!
Sorry about your young friend, Pandora. Cloughie, so sorry about your dad.
You're right that it's best to celebrate someone's life, rather than to mourne, but I realise that's difficult whilst grief is still fresh.
I hope that you both manage to come through your grief intact.
I've told John that I'd like to be burried upright, without a coffin and for a tree to be planted over me (not sure which type though - any suggestions?).

A tree sounds cool...just NOT a Weeping Willow-they look nice-but tend to fall over, roots (that would include you Gweenie) & all
And alicat...it's not right to leave folks who care about you wondering what's happened...a tad selfish...Sister dear!
And Gwennie, you know how you suggested I make an attatchment to go w/my E's that will be sent upon my demise? The Funeral Director has gone you one better...he's begging me to let his friend-a professional
film maker-do a vidio of me! (We've been friends since 1972) He says there's only one Val...I says...thank goodness!!! He asked,"Just for an example, what might one thing you say be?" I said,"I'd stick out my toungue-give everybody the rasberries & say something like...
YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY TAXES AND I DON'T...nay-nay-nay-nay-nayyy ;-P
