Anyone interested in participating in an Epic Tale? Seems we've run into some trouble... need help...
Good guys: Titania, Mandarb, sea - the Emperor's daughter - and her dragon azrael
Bad guys: desdemitra, darexis and - now that they have gained control of him - the Emperor himself..
Good guys hovering above cave on dragon's back
Bad guys inside cave, controlling very strong magic

Morning all (Tuesday). Lovely weather for the most important event in the world today - The running of the Melbourne Cup horse race in Australia.
Apparently there is a little local interest in which daddy's boy wins an election in America. It won't make any difference downunder. America will still be (with Japan) the most protectionist country in the world. Free Trade. Yeah right. Tell that to our sheep farmers who are still smarting over America-imposed protectionist tariffs.
Matina, lay out my top hat and tails please.

In Australia the Melbourne Cup is the fashion event of the year. Some women spend thousands of dollars on their outfits.
The race is run at 5.20pm Tuesday NZ time (GMT plus 13 hours) - roughly eight hours from now. Here's the field, jockey, weight to be carried by the horse and barrier draw.
Let's see who can pick the winner. I, somewhat unsurpisingly no doubt, will go for No 24, Brew.

A bit of a roughie Babel. It's paying 20-1. Still a good chance though

Yes, but Frankie has ridden horses at worse odds than that to win.So I'll stick with it, thanks Looney

Excellent choice at 15-1, Titania

Put me down for Majestic Avenue, Loony. I considered Yippyio, but I thought Lil might want that one.

Number 15 Pasta Express is the choice for me given just the names. The other option I would have gone for is Maridpour.
