Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

I always provide a blood sacrifice when building a computer.

Depends, I guess. I would think that a multi user system would need the blood of the users in order to have correct synergy with them. A personal system needs the owner/builder's blood instead.

Example: I need to build out a massive system to be used by several non-technical people. I reckon you would need either small individual sacrifices from each user, or just one big sacrifice from the most annoying user. While that user would no longer be, well, a user, it would solve two problems. The elimination of said user as well as the proper sacrifice to the computer gods.

Hey! Nice to see you, KM. How goes things?

Reasonable, I suppose. I am officially Disabled and getting money from the government *and* the state, bringing my monthly income slightl above what it was when it was just the state (which is giving me less due to what I'm getting from the government). Had a job briefly, but it didn't work out.

I started up an audience-driven story called Everywhere Quest, which stars Jenny Everwyhere: http://dizzy.pestermom.com/?p=everywhere

I am currently having weird gender self-identity issues I'm having trouble articulating.

Hopefully, things will balance out if not tip towards the positive.

You know that you can always find a supportive environment here on h2g2. smiley - hug

KM, I'm glad to see you here again. smiley - hug While gender-identity issues are pretty important to the owner of the identity, at least you have them in an age that grows ever more tolerant by the year.

And huzzah for getting disability! That must take a lot of stress away; I find that when you remove the stress a lot of creativity leaks in to take its place. smiley - artist

Well, I'm feeling better, but the size of the backlog of things I have to catch up on makes me feel queasy all over again.

Re computer sacrifices, I always thought the true Satan is Real Player...

As for the topic at hand ... I'd say that by now, the web is much too broad and deep for there to be only *one* true Satan.

I still think the one true Satan does the construction planning at Southampton Solent University. All the toilets in our building and the neighbouring SU building are now being renovated (hopefully they'll finally get the stains out of the carpets) so we now have to trek down the road to the library. They must be bemused by the number of people entering, going to the loo and then leaving.

That is planning and a half to put so many toilets out of order in one go smiley - erm

*waves to KimikoMuffin* That's good news about your income. I'm jobhunting at the moment, but I'm also applying for disability to tide me over in the meantime, as finding a suitable accessible job is not easy...

Building work in the Uni only ever happens between July and September when the students aren’t here, but you'd think they'd stagger it slightly.smiley - grr

Computers and electronics may be inhabited by all sorts of demons etc, but they also contain magic smoke, allowing them to function. When the magic smoke escapes, they cease to work.

Thank you, I have always wondered about that. Every time I see smoke coming from the Mother Board, the computer soon ceases to function! I thought that had something to do with the little flames that start popping up at the same timesmiley - shrug

Now I know this is only a coincidence, I suppose the un-plugging and water are a waste of timesmiley - tongueincheek

Marshmallows? Hm, we should see about adding those to the list of classical elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Surprise, and Marshmallows.

Add my own smiley - grr to the pile on behalf of the closed-off loos, by the way.

... I kind of feel like I ought to get out on the H2G2 more, but Lil's is ... well, it's sort of the only active place where I know people at the moment. There's a sense of home-ness to it, I guess you could say.
