Today is the first time I've regretted not having a TV. Very moving to see what I've been able to online, as the miners emerge. Eats, I agree -- I wish this effort could be put forth in other places in the world.

I was trying to remember whether you'd ever bagged a mug, Eats.

About the future. I've been in a bit of a funk recently, even though I believe I'm actually nearing the finish line in respect of achieving disability status. Emotionally and physically, it's been an annus horribilis. I'm tired, just chronically tired. I have a constant sense of imminent danger unless I stay mindful during every waking moment. I have a lot fewer productive hours in the day, and I'm becoming selfish about the time I do have.

That's all. I'm just asking for your understanding when the conversations linger on longer, or the introduction is terser than you're accustomed to. This place is not my personal pity party and I'm not going to dwell any more on my problems. It simply bothered me and made me feel guilty when 101X went on for an extra thousand posts because I was caught up in an artwork.

Back to the regular conversation. Who won the BBB pool? I couldn't remember when I was editing the notes.

Well I didn't get the job but I didn't want it! It was a maternity cover and I have an interview on Friday for a permanent post which I want.

The head was very helpful though and has given me some help and some model answers to typical questions.

Just to get prepared for Friday now!

Lil - we asked about you out of concern for our hostess and friend, not because we were worried about mucky cups. I cannot imagine the stress you have been under this past 18 months. Made particularly cruel by being both physically and socially vulnerable and powerless. No pity here, but respect and compassion.

The new conversation tradition is a good one, but it was driven by glitches with h2g2 which have long been ironed out of the code. It's good to start new convos, but it's also fine when one goes on a tadlet longer than expected.

So - everyone - who's gonna this one?

Lil, never feel guilty about doing things for yourself! I'm just glad that you're able to think about painting and creating. When I feel bad, I don't want to create - in fact it's hard for me to be creative. So when I do feel good, I try to take advantage of those times.
