Phil

It is worrying when that happens isn't it Ben.

FG sounds like a good day out.

The wind has stopped (well slowed right down) and the sky is not looking quite so ominous I guess it'll be working in the garden and down on the allotment today smiley - smiley

It's just tedious. It's still intermittent, and you have to go through the TalkTalk ritual step by step, so they've asked me to change the microfilter. It's never ever the microfilter, but we can't move on to the next step until we've done that one.

Off out to lunch later. smiley - smiley

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013

I've had the route sent through for the moonwalk, it has suggested viewing points for supporters along the way so if anyone happens to be sober enough at the end of the meet and fancies coming to cheer on the crowds I can give the details of where they are and (roughly) when I will be passing them. Alternatively if not too hungover you could get up early and come to see me finish.

The start/finish line is in Hyde Park. I'm in the green start group which is expected to set off sometime between 11.30pm and 12.00, going past Speakers' Corner shortly after. I should be going past Hyde Park Corner between 12.15 and 12.45 and heading down the Mall and through St James Park between 12.30 and 1am, and coming back through St James Park at around 6.30am. I'm hoping to finish in about seven and a half hours so should be back in Hyde Park at around 7am.

Did 20 miles yesterday in 6 hours, my right leg is twanging a bit now so I am going to rest it for a few days - that was the last long training walk anyhow, so the next one is the marathon itself. I don't know if I have got the extra 6 miles in me, am hoping the atmosphere and the other walkers will get me through!

I'm sure they will, Kelli. I'm not sure what our plans are for post-meet and Sunday morning activities, but I'l print out the time-table for my handbag anyway.

Can you join us for part of the meet itself?

Not really Ben, I am planning on trying to nap in the afternoon, if the adrenaline will let me! Much as I would love to come and see you all, I think I would be best off having a low-key day before the event. I am aiming to get to Playtex City in Hyde Park for around 8.30pm to minimise the hanging about.

Kelli, hats off to you. I would not even start to think about doing something like that.

All the best Kelli. One of my colleagues will be down for it, dressed up as a woman with his bra all decorated too smiley - smiley

I love the word "interesting", as in - Today I let a cadet experience an interesting landing! Still, walked away from it. The rest of the team came out with score cards as I taxied in.... most were zeros smiley - yikes

Still, they sent me up again with another one and that went smoothly.

Eats, was this down to 'interesting' cadet piloting or were you demonstrating how not to land? Either way, hope the cadet learnt some useful lessons.

Kelli, good luck with the walk and yes, us weirdos would definitely like to see your bra.

Here it's been a cold, windy but mostly dry weekend so far and we've got lots of things done in the garden and at the plot. It's very satisfying to see things growing well now and getting the plot into order, even the new apple trees are about to burst into flower.

BB, fortunately it was all over so quick he didn't have time to be ill. It's a lovely aircraft to fly, but sometimes interesting to land in a crosswind. Every day is a learning day though.

I've been collared to cut the grass now, but the front "lawn" is now 99% moss. Considering large scale chemical attack on it.....now where's the email addy for BP?

Magwitch - My name is Mags and I am funky.

smiley - goodluck Kelli - I'm sure you'll be fine. Gee'd on by the crowd that are doing it with you.

Eep! I've composed my resignation letter for work (I only work 6 hours a week, it isn't rocket science and more of a chore than a help, quite frankly) Hubby's not getting any better and I keep being rostered the in on the worst of the day of the week for me (hubby has to look after my eldest two as well as K for a few hours) I've told my boss on many an occasion, she doesn't listen and rosters me for the same day virtually every week. I've had enough.

Oh well, off to work until 10pm (again) but not for much longer.

What sunshine is that, Eats? smiley - envy

Just had a really pleasant lunch with Z and a friend of mine from work in Leeds. Z broke his journey on the way from Birminham to Edinburgh and we had a wander round Leeds Art Gallery while we waited for his train. They had some really good stuff there, including a Rodin which had been commissioned as a garden ornament by an industrialist (and which had a suspiciously shiny willy), and a whole bunch of abstract stuff from the 1930s which I really wanted to buy as cotton fabric and make dresses out of.

Back home to study. smiley - book

Having a smiley - bleep of a time trying to get a GPS to upload our track from Friday...

On the other hand have solved some other problems - most importantly, the downstairs bathroom drain has now been relieved of a lot of 17's long hair and actually drains again.

And it's been rather marvellous weather smiley - smiley

Not quite happy with the upload - for some reasons, Google Map splits the track over more than one page. But for those so inflicted, here is the walk we had: http://tinyurl.com/35roqgr

...which by threatening it with showing it to my learned friends seems to have consolidated itself into one page smiley - huh

Skäralid is where we started, Krika Skog is the shelter we spent the night in. And the red bit is the rather forced march - ok, brisk walk - we had out to catch the bus on Saturday morning. I should say that the colour choices are purely chosen by the software smiley - winkeye
