Sounds a bit like some recent activity in my neighborhood, but with less emphasis on the practice part. We had a nice little brush fire of 3-5 acres within a couple of miles from my house. It spread pretty slow, but airdrops were the only effective retardant, because it was in some rocky hills that are partially inaccessible to ground crews. It was handled fairly quickly, all things considered, and it never managed to harm anyone, and made things smell rather pleasant.

Your user page is now listed as one of the articles you've written (probably the first one). As Styx has been here for less than 1 day, it's measured in hours, not days or weeks.
When I was at Uni one of the regular sights was a big bright yellow Wessex Helicopter from the RAF Search And Rescue Squadron (22 Sqn, Flight C I think) which was based nearby at RAF Valley on Anglsey. Most of the time they'll have been going out for a practice, playing in the Snowdonia mountains, but there will have been time they were out picking up someone, or the bits of someone who got into trouble.
RAF Valley also is used for the RAF's Fast Jet training so you would occasionally see fast jets in the mountains (probably with the pilots going for a day on the beach with their mates )

ACK! Completely lost my last post!
Er, Lil, I'm not YK. I'm a clone of his. And I've turned to the Dark Side.
Anyway, you know how all the Darths in Star Wars have last names that are something nasty without the first few letters? (in)Vader, (in)Sidious, (shopping)Maul, etc. And with me its (in)Corrigible. Get it?

Welcome back, Marv! Looney's not here, so grab the reclining chair. I think I'm going to get some more of those swivel recliners. As a matter of fact, the Lazy B******s Society should be furnished with nothing else.
Incidentally, I notice Styx the Rat is online right now...

Oh, Darth, I figured it was something like that, but I like the choice of words anyway. How come only the Dark Side wants to visit the Atelier?

Maybe he followed Affy or me. We are both card-carrying (and indeed founding) members of STUMPED, the organization of super villians. Darth is a newly initiated member. And I quite like his name too.
Wonder who is playing Styx.

*goes to kitchen* Did you say something? I mean, did you speak?
*Styx regards her steadily*
Oh well. I'll feed you already.
Sporky, what you said about Poser -- I would paint clothes on after I exported the posed model to a 2D drawing. How else could I know how the clothes interact with the environment? And as for anatomical details, it got to be hilarious with the male model's "lunchbox"; at first I was thinking, I can POSE this?, I can pose THIS? Then I ignored it, which was maybe worse because when I finished positioning the guy his details were in a really unexpected place and pointing in an unexpected direction.
*puts down kibble and donuts for Styx, plus fresh water*
Once you DO get the hang of the positioning part, it's worth its weight in gold, to have the positioning and lighting done for you.

Eh?
Is there any way I can get this "Poser" program to mix with the program, "Simply3D"? And does anyone have a clue as to what I'm talking about?

*floating in, in her usual v.e.l.-manner, noticing a rathole*
Hi all!
Here you go, Styx!
*refilling his bowl, this time with Swedish meatballs*
Maybe that will keep him QUIET...
*heading for fridge, pouring herself a glass of champagne, sweeping it*
Lil, let me know next time you're making fresh mbougatses, they're absolutely DELICIOUS!
Bye, all! Got to go..
*drifting off, in her v.e.l.-manner*

The rat could do with learning some manners as well. It's all very well being a death metal rat with glowing eyes but that's no excuse for bad manners. That woman you know full well is called Lil and I'm sure that's what she prefers being called.

*A fire-engine-red van bearing the legend "Pest Exterminators To The Landed Gentry" pulls up outside Lil's. Ma'am, you called.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted Jul 6, 2000
I did not. Is this some kind of joke by one of the other campaigns? It's not a rat hole, Phil, it's a ratflap, which my nephew installed for his pet rat, which is Styx. Styx has unaccountably begun to talk. If you heard him, Phil, then I didn't imagine it.
His manners are regrettable, aren't they?
Away with you, exterminator! This is a house pet that need socialising. Look -- he's all legal, has a flea collar and rabies tag.
I wonder who it is.

*Styx polishes off the last of the swedish meatballs, has a long cool drink of water, then wanders over to his nest, already occupied by Mindspring, where he sits down to groom himself*
Styx, please use the flap quietly if you go out during the night, and try not to disturb my guests, ok? And don't look at me like that.
I'm turning in. I'll see all you good people tomorrow.
