Rhynch's story has reminded me that it has been ages since I've had fresh crappie. My dad was the fisherman in the family. He always kept us supplied with crappie, rainbow trout, bass, drum, and catfish. Now I have to buy the flown in stuff at the grocers.
I think it would be $10 well spent, MR. I know you're stressed about the orals, but isn't it wonderful to be so close? It's very exciting.

I don't know where the USian Mother's Day comes from, but in the UK we celebrate Mothering Sunday, which was the Sunday in the middle of Lent, when children (14+) would be given the day off work (if they worked as servants for example), so that they could walk home and visit their mothers. I think it is also an opportunity to celebrate the Mother Church, but I am not sure. Basically it was a jolly halfway through Lent.
Oh - Kelli has said all of that already.
God, weddings are complicated, aren't they? At mine, my ex wore his kilt, my Dad (who married us) wore his clergical kit, and my Big Bro who gave us away wore morning dress, complete with Top Hat. I can't remember whether or not it was my Grandfather's or whether it came from Moss Bross. Moss Bross, I think. The ushers wore whatever they turned up in, and I didn't have bridesmaids. It all seemed a lot easier that way, but we were an unmatched job lot in the photos, but who *cared*? It was a great day, and one I still look back on and smile.
When not officiating, my Pa used to wear Clerical Morning Dress for weddings. I have a favourite photo of him looking like something out of Dickens with my ex who was giving another outing to the kilt.
I guess people don't have a Posh Kit that lasts them for decades these days, so will hire whatever the whim takes them. Fairy nuff, I guess. Though I do dearly love blokes in grey morning dress. It is one of those subtly sexy kits, like cricket whites, that the English male does so well.
Welcome back to the Atelier Titania!

Wow Ben, you must be a seer. It's somewhere in the 1950s now!

I swear that I read a 5, and it still looks like a 5 on the laptop display (sure blame the computer).

You know, Marv, as we get older and the eyes start to go and the mind slows down, things like this happen.

Marv, you must remember that I am not Ben in here. You're confusing poor Mr. D!

Yeah, I've found it confusing elswhere GDZ, and you must find it *really* confusing - or at the least mildly annoying.
I am just very unused to other people having my name. For some reason I know more black labradogs called "Ben" than real live people. I keep on forgetting that you are another of us. And then there is Master B, of course. Bless him.

Be thankful that you don't know many 'Ben's, Ben... having lots of people running about with the same name can get nasty. Us LARPers are trapped in the middle of a war between the Dave Collective and the United Andys... I'm not lying either, for some reason LARP attracts a lot of Daves and Andys!

When I was in elementary school, I had a couple of years where there were 3 Bens in my class. Talk about confusing. At least we all had different last initials.

There are three Jeffs on my team as well as two Jays. There were two Brians, but one moved to SJ. Only one Marv, however.
