Byeeee

Why oh why did I think I'd have free time when I had no revision to do? I have about a million and one things to do, when instead here I am happily fiddling with my linux box.

So Teuchter, I'm confused - did you resign already, or are you still holding off on that? I thought you had intended to resign a few days ago but the boss was out of the office.

Affy, I think the concurrent-library-hitchhikers theory is unlikely. More likely it was you who posted it in another space/time/universe/crisper drawer. Or a technical glitch or stale cookie elsewhere. But it makes a good case for a holistic detective, no?

Office Christmas party today, still must do some cleaning. I'm tempted to use the "travel 200 miles to fix my glasses" excuse to get out of it, but I don't think anyone would believe that I had to travel *past* either NY city or Philadelphia (and the hundreds of intervening towns) to find an optician. Plus I don't wear prescription glasses.

Because it's a serious thread. Wasn't this made sufficiently clear to you last time?

don't you ever welcome thingites? I mean you can have these kind of conversations in real life - so why have them on hootoo?

You can have silly conversations in real life too... we'd probably be more welcoming if you said somthing worthwhile rather than just saying 'this is boring'.

How about this then. 'man would sooner have the void for his purpose than be void of purpose' Nietzche, Geneology of Morals

smiley - sigh

Do you want a *serious* answer to that question? smiley - cross

Because many of us have been around h2g2 since the earliest days, and we know each other as well as we can without ever having actually met. In "real life" where 1000s of miles apart, so it's the only opportunity for us to have these kinds of conversations. And we spend plenty of time being smiley - silly on h2g2, just not in this thread (usually), and not always with these accounts/usernames.

Yes I'd like a serious answer to the question

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Aye... I'm still a young'un (at least in H2G2), but I like it here BECAUSE it's a break from the silliness...
On the other hand I also run Ask Mr. Dreadful (F19585?thread=542690)
Am I normal?
