Have just found that the job that was my first choice, that I assumed would be unpopular is actually really competative. Which is annoying me because I've set my heart on that job, and I really want it.
The applications have gone now, and there's no interviews so it's all up to fate.

So which job is your first choice job then Z, and what others did you pick for the lottery^H^H^H^H^H^H^H matching scheme?

It's in the highly sorght after, up and coming and desirable area, centre of arts and culture.
West Bromwich.
Which for some reason is where all the bright young graduates from Birmingham Med school want to work.
It's got a very good canteen.

I have to find myself some more work!!
The libetarian govenment in this country (Denmark) in February removed the subsidation of porto from union's, organisation's and other groups's newletters and magazines. The result being that hundreds of smaller organisations and local unions can't afford to pay both for a journalist and the fee for sending newsletters etc. to all their members.
The newsletters have become fewer in numbers and frequency and apart from what it does to the democracy - I'm also concerned about feeding my family. I've lost what equals 7 months' of income. And that goes for quite a lot of freelance journalists, so we are all trying to find alternative costumers.
And to add to the 'misery' I've just put my foot down on one of my regular costumers. It felt good to draw a line - pointing out that I will take this and not take that. It has always been my policy to choose my employers with care .
It has all been done by e-mail, and alas, now I'm sure I could have done it more elegantly. It is so easy to paint youself into a corner with words alone because one can never be sure how they are interpretated. And both I and the employers whom I know very well, even on a friendly basis, have misunderstood and let emotions carry some of the communication .
D*mn.
I've opened several doors - but haven't heard anything.
I'll leave it for a week and then ask for a personal meeting with the chairman of the union in question.

I called the paramedics yesterday evening and had him taken to the hospital. I tried to take his blood sugar reading and it wouldn't regisgter on my meter. It turned out to be 680. Anyway, that may acount for some of the recent weakness. He's on an insulin drip. I'm going to try to get them to send him to rehab from the hospital and see if they can get him up and walking and get some strength back into his legs. I got about 5 hours sleep - which isn't enoughbut better than nothing. On my way back over to the hospital.
Both of the boys are coming up for Thanksgiving. I'll see if the youngest, who is at loose ends right now, will stay. It's unlikely, but I'll give it a shot. And he would be lousy help other than the fact that he's strong as a horse and could help lift him around. If not I'm going to apply for Title 19 assisatance and put him in a nursing home.
F's daughter can't really come. She has her elderly aunt living with her and is the caregiver in that situation. The aunt had a stroke and has terminal cancer.

hype this Title 19 assisatance, can it be paid as a grant to enable home care, fees , that of course your son could be paid , for doing volentary work, another some what silly thought i had while writing this.
What if you started to train people in basic palletive care, running two week courses, that way you could pass on what you have learnt, ease your burden, and suppliment your meagre income at the same time.
if that makes sense

If I was that high (680mg/dl or about 38mmol/l) I'd be wanting some assistance as well.
What would the title 19 assistance give you Hypatia (unfamiliar terminology for those on the right side of the pond).

That is Title 19 of the Social Security Act, which provides state aid from the federal government for medical assistance programs.
Here's the legal gobbledy-gook, which I seriously don't expect anyone to read:

Ok, since you all want to know about my date, here's a brief synopsis.
We started off by going bowling, lots of fun. We then went out to dinner. After dinner we went to a church service. I had a lot of fun, and I believe she did too.
