Well your last point is absolutley correct. Spanish is a useful language to have anywhere south of Kansas these days.

Lil, I'd been making a mess in the US nearly four years ago. Actually, we're not sure if we'll be coming back. To be honest, I'm opposed to leaving British soil for -anywhere-. It's a case of "been there done that". Suddenly going to France for a fifth time does not have any appeal.
And ditto to what aunt Lil said just then.

How are you going to become a famous international correspondent if you won't leave England?
We're having about 4 conversations at the same time here and I think I'm starting to get scrambled!

I'm wondering how many entries on Australia I'll churn out in august.
I've just thought, how come I've never written anything about Wales? Oh well, next time I'm up there...
Real time h2g2 chat...the ultimate way to eat your phone bill. Happens to me all the time . As if 11.45pm wasn't late enough.
Well, what else can I do at this time?!

Mike, I doubt you've been there done that all over! For starters, the US is an incredably huge place. Arizona alone is larger than most European countries. I think it's about the size of France, with environments ranging from low desert to mid alpine. The Grand Canyon alone can be an entire week's vacation, and it's just a big ditch!
Then you go just west, and California's even bigger! Washington State and Florida have basically one thing in common -- humidity. That's it. And I've been lead to believe that there's no other town in the world like New Orleans, Louisiana.

Which city you would have to visit real soon before global warming sinks it.
That's the regret I have about Venice; I've missed it, really, at least the way it was meant to be seen, like in the Canaletto paintings.

I rather favour bryce, but only for cars, as I only have an affinity for butterfree, the bug/psychic pokemon . Ah, it is rather spacious in here.... a couple of throw pillows, some sconces, and voila!

Lil, can I make a request? I'm putting up a webpage for my summer road trip, and it's really boring, because there's no art. No background image, not illustrations, no nothing. It's kind of like the rest of my website, actually. But I'd like *something* to accentuate the roadtrip page at the very least. I'm not sure what I want, but I'm sure I want something. Can you do anything for me?

Yes! But I'll need to know more, before time, so that I can design/draw to a plan.

alright... i guess i'm having trouble with specifics, myself, so why don't you just ask me some questions?

Yeah Irv, I haven't quite been everywhere. But I've been to quite enough places over the world to know that French kids really do stink!
It's interesting, people have these stereotypes of countries, and most of them are actually true.

That could be because deodorant is a perscription drug in France.

ROFLAMX
But Mike, how much time have you spent in the US, and where did you spend it, and what did you do? We want to know. If it turns out that you just spent two days at California amusement parks on your way to Oz, then I say your preconceptions are invalid. Everybody knows that the Americans at amusement parks are 50% more odious than any other sort.

This is true. Now, Lil, have YOU figgured out what ROFLAMX stands for??? Rolling on Floor Laughing and Massaging Xena? Who knows.
But on a serious note, what, exactly do you need to know?

Ok Lil, I spent a week mistly in LA, but spent the good part of a day in San Diego. Went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, I think some sort of Hollywood place (it had the pavement with stars with famous gays names on them) and probably many other places. Was over three and a half years ago, so I guess any assumptions I make are still invalid!
Though I do remember, a few days before we left, that plane blew up over the Pacific. I remember that very well cos it was all over the newspapers. And the bomb in the Olympics. And this guy died in a motor race thing.
No, hang, I lie. The last two things happened while we were in Sydney the week after...

See there? Mike, if you ever do decide to come to the states for a while, tell one of us, so that we can show you some things...
