Two days of migrain isn't fun Also my pc doesn't like the internet any more (TCP/IP won't initialise )
I am therefore reading and writing this on my new mobile phone.
Like Dr Johnson's bi-pedal dog - it's cool because it's possible not because it's actually cool.
Waves to Amy and Grey Desk. Amy do those mufflewumps cure migraines?

I am not accustomed to humidity as high as this. Everything feels hot and sticky. We had a grand storm yesterday with hail and all, and another storm is rolling in. Thank Bob I have a new roof!!!

I always assumed that a Woolly Mammoth was just a regular elephant who was badly in need of a haircut. Heigh-ho.
A good day day today: the temperature was on the way down and below 20C today, and it rained as well

Have a wonderful time, Marv. Play a couple of quarters for me, won't you? I've got this project I need funded. . .
Well, all, our dear son has managed to safely complete his basic training for the US Army and is graduating next week. Considering the world situation I am torn between pride and fear. But we are travelling out to South Carolina to see his graduation next week. We'll be leaving Sat. morning and I already dread the backlog. . .

Ben, I'm not sure about mufflewhumps vs. migraines, but it certainly can't hurt anything!

How are your electric bills doing, youse guys? Just got a mammoth one (no offense, Wooly!) from my company. I'm seriously considering getting a loan and replacing the 15-year-old air conditioner - if I can save $100 a month with a new a/c, it will really help.

Lentilla, if you can afford a newer air conditioner, it will definitely make a difference on your electric bill. We had an older one which died, and we replaced it with a new more efficient one and immediately started saving about $50 per month in the hot months. Another thing that saved us a bunch of money was investing in compact flourescent lightbulbs to replace all the incandescent bulbs in the house. The only bad thing was it meant that the rheostat to dim bulbs no longer could be used in the living room and so we replaced the switch. That change brought the light bill down about $25 during the dark months.
The final change that I make is to use my clothesline when I possibly can. Not every body has the luxury of doing this I realize, you really have to have time at home with your laundry, and there are subdivisions and condo associations that have banned clotheslines as "tacky". It is not always possible for me because of the volume of sheets I need with my massage business. But last month I was religious about it, plus we kept the air conditioner set at 76degrees and our electric bill was almost $120 less than it was the previous year during the same month when it was just as hot and I was just as busy doing massage.
Ben, thanks for your . My husband, the guy with the pickup, retired from 21 years in the Navy. So I wasn't too unhappy to hear that the Soldier Boy decided to choose the military as a career. Considering what he had been doing previously, which was being unemployed, detailing cars, installing sheetrock, and sundry other very unsavory things I will not detail, I was happy to hear of a career change. Or just a career. But Iraq, the Middle East Crisis, the saber rattling in Korea, the civil wars in Africa -- they make me very afraid for him. If he gets killed in combat the insurance payment is $240,000 which is very small consolation for the loss of your son (or husband, or wife, or father, or daughter, or mother). Now you know what the US gov. feels is the value of a human life.

I've declared tonight to be a no study night, I really need the break.
With only the final exam remaining, I am sitting pretty with an A- in math. I am sitting at an A with only the final remaining in communications. The prof for my other 2 classes (same guy) has not yet posted any scores so I have no clue what my grades are there.

Air drying outside is impossible here. One's things would come off the line coated in brown dust.
