A Conversation for LIL'S ATELIER

Mrs Zen Posted Feb 22, 2005
I have this awful awful temptation to do the Stonehenge / Avebury trip in Fancy Dress. I have a very nice Wizard costume... or failing that I can do a very good 1920s flapper.
On the subject of Stonehenge / Avebury, it occurred to me that it might make more sense for Hypatia to go from London to Bath via Stonehenge, and for us to do Avebury as a separate trip. I'm easy either way, though.

Hey, that means I could wear my Witch-hunter costume!

Although wearing the witch-hunter costume would mean I'd be unable to sit in a car... lots of light leather armour...

Ho hum. Maybe another time.

Mrs Zen Posted Feb 22, 2005
Me still likes though... Are we giving up too easily Mr D?

Trust me, I'm not giving up easily... leather jerkin, gorget, bracers and greaves doth not a manuverable person make. It'd be even worse if I wore my breast plate.

Well why don't you store some of the more cumbersome fancy dress items in the book and put them on when we get out of the car.
And it is a *very* good wizards outfit..
The Atelier Conservatory
Mrs Zen Posted Feb 22, 2005
It's a pretty good 1920s flapper outfit too. What have you got that doesn't involve light armour, Mr D?

Ah. You meant 'store in the boot', didn't you? Though the vision of storing them in a suited the surreality of this site.

Well, there's foppish gentleman pirate, manky stinky pirate and (by the time of the trip) psychotic celt.
The Atelier Conservatory
Mrs Zen Posted Feb 22, 2005
Well the Pirates would be more fun, but the celt would be more appropriate. But I fancy the Pirates more, it has to be said.
Hyp can go dressed as a Librarian on Holiday.
What about you Z? I can't remember if you are up for this trip. If I do the flapper, would you do the wizard thing?
And what about Mrs D?
(This is Such A Bad Idea)

Mrs D hasn't got any costume-y stuff but I'm sure we could come up with something.

Just thought of something... part of the Celt costume is made from real rabbit skin (albeit from rabbits which were farmed for food anyway) is this likely to offend anybody?
The Atelier Conservatory
Mrs Zen Posted Feb 22, 2005
Don't think rabbit-skin would offend me, and I doubt it would offend Z, though he may stroke it a bit!
Hypatia - what are you unleashing on the world? I am English. I don't make myself Conspicuous in public.

No it won't offend me, and I doubt I'd stroke it, unless I was drunk.
B, the flip side of English reserve is that you can be totaly eccentric in public and no one will dare comment to your face..
