For an arty person, I'm extremely scrupulous in my record keeping, and make a note of every last cent in and out, categorized and all. Including all charitable contributions and gifts to clients. What I never seem to do is foresee all contingencies. Hypatia has it right -- I didn't actually owe any TAX -- what I owe is social security contributions because I earned so much last year. 
Last night I had a genuine anxiety attack, replete with physical symptoms. The IRS scares me on a good day, and this wasn't a good day. Mortal terror.
I'll get past it, and I'll know from now on to keep track of SS, but no, it was NOT what I needed just now.
Maybe my monitor will arrive today and I can finally put my office together and neaten the rest of the house. That affects my mood, too, living amongst disorderly piles of things.
