Affy, I have seen them in gaming magazines as giveaways. If you need a demo key once you find discs let me know...

Will do.
Of course, considering that I doubt my computer can handle WoW anyway, it probably won't be much of an issue.

WoW is far elss demanding than SWG, but does still need a fastish pc.
Rogues have a very high DPS and I really enjoying playing mine, especially with the current talents she has. I also love my new priest, she will be shadow specced.
My guild is based on the dream of rebuilding Dalaran, so if it is rebuilt then we can focus our efforts in driving evil form Azeroth in general.
To chat in General, Trade etc, just prefix what you want to say with the number of the channel i.e. /4 LFG for deadmines...../2 wtb linen cloth...etc

To give everyone an idea: the most advanced thing that I've ever been able to run smoothly(*) is Zork Grand Inquisitor.
Without new official, graphical Zork games in production, I lost all need to keep updating. And two years ago I lost my sound card.
Although, the other day when I realized that my computer was too old for the most recent BARD'S TALE game, well....I considered updating.
And I cried. For a bit.
Well, maybe not. I didn't actually cry.
Except for the inside....I miss the Bard's Tale....

What happens when your character gets killed? Sporky said something along the lines of "every time my character gets killed..."

Your character will respawn as a ghost in a graveyard. You then have to walk to your corpse to ressurect without penalty or you can ressurect at the graveyeard (thereby getting away from the corpse camping bastards that killed you to begin with) but you take a 75% peanalty to all of your stats for 10 minutes and your gear takes damage that then needs to be repaired. If you have a priest with you they can sometimes ressurect you on the spot.

Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 24, 2006
Any penalties to have a priest resurrection?
The Gamers Conversing in the Computer Room
marvthegrate LtG KEA Posted Jan 24, 2006
No penalties for a priest to res, but it takes 30 minutes for them to recharge that ability.
Lil corpse camping is what happens when a high level character stays near where a corpse is and waits for them to ressurect so they can kill the newly ressurected players again. It is part and parcel with playing on a PvP (player vs player) server.

Presumably the newly resurrected character is weak and easy to kill again? That hardly seems sporting -- there ought to be a double jeopardy rule.

That's why "campers" are so widely scorned, Lil.
That's why I like Legend Of The Green Dragon's PvP system. People can only attack you while you're logged out, you can only die once (the game is designed to always bring your character back to life at the next dawn regardless of the circumstances, so this was a no brainer for the programmers).
Add to this the humongous amount of experience you get if you win a PvP fight while you were sleeping, and it's a great system. There've been times when I've won three or four fights in a row while logged off because I get so much experience from the first two that my character eventually gets unbelievably powerful for whatever level he's at.

WoW?!?!?!?!?!
I'm "sea" (horde) on Bloodscalp. Send me a tell if you see me online!
WoW is absolutely lovely. I'm also tinkering with City of Heroes(& Villains) and EQII. I like CoH/V, but the jury's still out on EQ2.

I believe that if you corpse camp you don't get any honor for killing a target - I am not sure if you get tagged for a dishonorable kill or not.
WoW is now down for me. I was playing in Warsong Gultch and got kicked right out.

Stupid overloaded servers since Xmas...
Incidentally... Affy, I'd gladly send you my install disks if you give me an address to send them to....

There is no cool down on a priest ressing, just dependent on your mana pool.
The connection queue was why I migrated some of my chars from Argent Dawn to Steamwheedle Cartel (EU servers). It was a nuisance to have to break for a meal, going AFK, and then rushing back to move my char to avoid disconnection every ten minutes or so. To log on find that there are 700 people ahead of you is a bit irritating.

to keep myself from going afk in a particularly long BG (like last night, i was in a WG that lasted over 2 1/2 hours, before i was disconnected after resing), i find a secluded spot and auto-run myself into a corner.

I've heard of these battlegrounds... what's the deal with them? I know you get to them via quests but beyond that I'm clueless.
The Gamers Conversing in the Computer Room
Coniraya Posted Jan 25, 2006
No you don't need quests, just see the BG organisers, for the Alliance they are in Stormwind Keep and Ironforge. Presumably Orgrimmar and the Undercity for the horde.
