A Great Film ?! It certainly cost a lot of money and features good actors and state of the art efx, but then...
I think the goal here was a remake of '2001' plus '2010', blended with ruff&tuff 'Apollo 13'-like action and some cutie teeny-weeny 'Spielbergisms'. All cramped into a 2-hour format. Those huge gaps in the story allow the suspicion that the original story (if there even is one) has been chopped into bits to cater the MTV-generation´s taste and attention-span.
Sorry, Mr. dePalma, but you´ve made some much better films before. Thumbs down for this one.

By the way, when you say you can't say any more or you'll spoil the plot, Have You Actually Seen The Rest Of The Filer Or Were You One Of Those Who Walked Out Half Way Through Because It Was Just That Bad?

I watched this on Sky movies and can remember thinking at the end: "That's two hours of my life I'll never get back."

My sister saw it at the cinema and people were laughing when the aliens appeared at the end. When she left, some people were actually trying to get their money back.

Its a truely awful film. Red Planet (bad as it was) is far superior to Mission to Mars.
