As the whether can be quite nasty during the end of november, a suggestion for an indoor activity might be in order.
In the Hermitage (Amsterdam, not St. Petersburg) there is an exhibition about the last czar and his wife. If it is the same quality as the ancient greek gold of some months ago, it should be fabulous.
And Amsterdam has lots of pubs and restaurants of course, with the Sinterklaas and maybe Christmas windows for afterwards.

Ah yes - I deliberately scheduled to avoid Sinterklaas although that could have been fun getting everyone to write their poems. 
Is there a website for the Hermitage Marijn? I haven't been to Am'dam for ages and that exhibition does sound spectacular.
