I am still not convinced you know!
IanG Posted May 1, 2000
Abi, you're such a cynic!
(Hold on! Strictly speaking I'm an engineer! OK, quite right, all sounds highly suspicious to me. )
I am still not convinced you know!
Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
Hang on a mo, Abi didn't you do an arts degree?
I am still not convinced you know!
Abi Posted May 1, 2000
I'll have you know mate that I worked bloody hard and spent a lot of time in dusty archives and libraries... oh and trudging over battlefields. Its not all drinking drinking drinking you know!!
I am still not convinced you know!
Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
Ah, that's the thing, all our text books are up to date so no dusty archives Besides I get a paltry three weeks summer holiday (at the most) before working for the next seven months in a proper firm. Off to start to reduce my debts already.
It's not drinking drinking and drinking at all for me. More like dancing, clubbing, and h2g2ing
BTW did you think of writing an entry about your degree course?
I am still not convinced you know!
Abi Posted May 1, 2000
The reason I was in an archive in the first place was cos we left text books behind after year one!! No behave or I will get those towels from the other forum for you.
BTW no. I graduated five years ago and I know that the place has changed out of all recognition!

Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
Well still being stuck in year one I'm not sure I can comment further
BTW I was asking because I though of compiling all the university related articles in opne place for students. Currently working on the content. It's one of the reasons I wrote this article; I thought it would be slightly suspect asking others to contribute having done nothing myself.

Abi Posted May 1, 2000
And as you are not doing history I doubt you will find yourself in one unless they send you to do the filing!!!
BTW - *goes into official DCE mode* can I email you about this tomorrow? Cannot say more then this at the moment but don't worry it is not negative - is the email address you log in with the best one to get you on?
I am still not convinced you know!
Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
And am I glad about that
BTW Yep fine, and the log in e-mail is constantly checked to see if I have any new approved entries anyway
I am still not convinced you know!
Abi Posted May 1, 2000
Cool - I will drop you a line tomorrow, which I was going to do anyway as you were one of the people who kindly built a room for the party.
BTW History is a great subject and there is nothing wrong with dusty archives!!

I did history as far as GCSE but I got fed up of analysing every little detail for bias and usefulness. I prefer the results to the research I think and particularly loved finding out about ancient civilisations when I was younger.
Don't get much time for it now, though DD's little trip through the Saxon Kings has been interesting. I really should go look at the Historical society at some stage.

My favourite is military history - I got to do some work with the bloke who does War Walks on Beeb 2 a couple of years ago which was fab. Any way - time for the Arabian Nights. Might see ya Christian Slater!

Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
BTW Just to let you know I won't be able to get near email before early afternoon, some of those supposedly non-existant lectures will be getting in the way all morning.
I am still not convinced you know!
Abi Posted May 1, 2000
Wow you mean they are actually making you do some work?
That's cool - like I said not to panic. Nothing scary - I promise.
I am still not convinced you know!
Dancing Ermine Posted May 1, 2000
Yes one of the few occasions every week where I have to get up at 9.14 for a 9.15 lecture working right through until 1.15. Then I'm having lunch.
Looking for easy subjects timetablewise try economics I know one guy who has 2/3 of his weekly lectures on mondays, which he conveniently missed today.
Not panicking, just warning you not to expect a reply too early in the morning. Wait a minute, I'm a self confessed student, you probably weren't expecting me to be up before 4pm anyway
I am still not convinced you know!
Abi Posted May 1, 2000
I was expecting one around 5.45 when you have propped open your eyes with matchsticks!
